Pimp my Busse SFNO

I bought a Busse SFNO recently, and I'm quite content with it, but there are some aspects that can be improved i.m.o..

So I decided to pimp it.

First: change the coarse factory edge into a 2500 grit polished one: scary sharp! Then, remove the magnum grips (too thick) and the alloy handle bushings (the weakest point of this knife).

After that I decided to round off the sharp edges around the handle. Busse calls this the "Nuclear Meltdown treatment", but I can do that too. Added bonus is that this knife is now pretty special, because Busse has never treated a 7" SFNO this way (at least not as far as I know).

Next step: rough fit the new black/green linen Micarta handleslabs with three stainless Corby blind bolts (very strong).

Next step: Rough shape the handle slabs. The texture of the Micarta becomes visible. Now we are getting somewhere!

Wow, cool! Might have to take orders soon. Keep the pics coming as you finish it, I'd like to see the process
 
I'm curious to see the end result too...don't think I've seen anyone re-handle a Busse before...there was one guy but all he did was wrap the handle duct dape :D I'm not sure that really counted, lol

Are you anywhere near Vianen? I'll be there for a few days in February or March.

You have been away for quite a while,lots of pimping and handle changes have been going on.

Outstanding job edge-maker! Your Nuclear Meldown treatment looks excellent! Can't wait to see the knife finished! Is the blade satin finished or double cut?

Looks great...the SFNO must be the national knife of The Netherlands or something?
 
Looks nice! Its your knife! You can pimp it or do what-ever you like with it! Don't understand all of the defensiveness in the posts this week! Look forward to seeing the results!

Thank you all for your appreciated comments! I will keep you posted! She should be ready in a couple of days. At the moment I'm working on the sheath.

Darknemesis, I'm about 50 miles south from Vianen.

TreeherderV, the blade is double cut. I,m going to give it a light beadblast overall when it's finished.

Maquahuitl, no sadly it is not. Would be great if it was, though.
