Pimp My Guyot!

I gotta get one of those cofee filters...

I wished I would have read this thread 5 min ago. I just posted a request for photos of modification to hang SS bottles in another thread. Nice job with the mod's. Great idea.

I wonder how hard it would be to tac a little external eyelet of some sort on the bottom edge to attach a wire to. With that and the mod in this thread, you could pick the bottle up and tip it to pour without ever touching the hot bottle.

dammit.

the longer i spend on these forums, the more stuff i can find to spend money on.

i want one now!

I was wondering the same thing.

I wonder if JB Weld would hold and stand up to the heat of a fire?

I'm glad this was brought back up, I had the hole part down...but I was wondering what I was going to use for the bail, thanks!

First I want to say what a great thread this is.

Alright I'm a HUGE coffee drinker and love to have a cup or two when I'm hanging out in the woods or doing some fishing. Usually I'll thermos some in with me and sometimes I'll bring along a stainless percolator pot and make some on the fire. The downside with both of these methods is I'm lugging gear that is not exactly light and has only one use ( a vital use though it may be ) .

I love the idea of the coffee filter and seeing as how I already have a stainless guyot all I would need would be the filter and a nesting cup. I'm a bit unsure on the process that you guys are using though. I'm guessing you hang the guyot in the fire to boil the water, but how do you put the plastic coffee filter on the bottle without it melting? Maybe I'm thinking about this the wrong way

Also does anybody stock both the GSI stainless cup and the H2jo coffee filter? I'd like to save on shipping if possible.

Thanks for the help gentleman. This looks like it will lighten my load.
