What are the chances that the machine shop would have the exact diameter that you need and tube no less? What is your time worth, how long is a round trip to this machine shop that has the needed drops? How much would the EXACT tube cost from a supplier delivered to your door?
 
well in my case I have two places that I go.1 is a shop and a supplier. But they only deal with plain steels. the other supplier I go to is a bit bigger, and they have all kinds of stuff in stock last time I went I just wanted to grab a couple pieces of aluminum to modify my grinder stand. just by chance I saw a whole bunch of stainless tubes to that they had.so I decided to grab one. Both shops within 10 minutes of my house.25 or so if I live on the other side of town. You can alway give them a call to see if they have what you want.
