Ordered a knife that was in stock and got confirmation of the transaction on Feb 20th.
I paid extra for 3 day UPS Shipping and the transaction reflects this.
When the parcel had not been delivered (US shipping address) by last Thursday, I tried to contact them by e-mail.
On Friday I used their website to generate a message and sent another e-mail.
I friend in the USA also phoned repeatedly and late Friday someone actually answered the phone.
The parcel had been shipped last Wednesday was the news.

Today I am notified by UPS that a parcel has been lodged with them and the expected delivery date is March 3!
Is this what I payed extra shipping for?
To ensure that a guaranteed three-day delivery MAY possibly only take 12 days?
To date none of my e-mails have been answered.
No service, no communication and they effectively cheated me out of the higher shipping charges.
I will never buy from this badly run business again. :barf:

While several "carriers" claim that their "3-Day'er" is guaranteed. . . .I doubt that their average is above 60 or 70%. Simply, that's not where they make their money.

Theoretically, a business has no control over a "carriers" late delivery. Yes, they charged you for the service. . .but unfortunately. . .the seller can't make the carrier live up to the standard that the carrier publishes/claims.

What you can do is go back to the seller and request a refund of the shipping charges (they will probably do a split on the difference between "Ground" and the "3-Day"). Then, the seller can go back and file a claim with the carrier for a partial refund (that is all that the carrier will allow).

One thing to note. . . .UPS will not credit the sellers account if there were "natural" conditions that prevented them from making an on time delivery.

Personally. . . .I've never used 2 or 3 day service with any carrier. Why? Because they are full of do-do. :D Want a real "guarantee?" Use a "Next Day/Overnight" thingy. That is where these types of carriers earn their money and if they don't deliver. . . ."full" refund. ;)

Why the non-existant customer service...no response to my requests for info?
Why tell the addressee that it was already shipped last Wednesday?
Just plain BAD business practises.
Seems to me he is plainly a bullsh!t artist.
No - I'll look elsewhere in future.

Couldn't tell ya for sure, bud.

I could speculate. . . .and tell you that they may be out of town, swamped with business, system service down, etc., etc., etc.

Personally, I would keep trying.

Probably because they did.

Do you have a tracking # ?

If you do. . . .then it's easy to verify that they did ship it last Wednesday. It will also show you where your package is.

If you don't have a tracking #. . . . :(

Could be. . . .it's your call.

Personally. . . .you've been hosed more by UPS. . . .than the seller.

Again. . . .your call.

I think that the most fretting in any transaction has to be over the "shipping !" :)

I do hope that all works out for you and that you do receive the knife. . . .soon !

Let us know how it works out for you. :)

Meant to add. . . .

Dirk. . . .if you have the tracking # and need some help. . . .shoot it to me via e-mail.

I'll make some calls for you.

this is run by "Josh" right? PVKAT?

You story is not unique, sorry.

Unfortunately that seems to be the case Oupa. Do some searching and check it out. I just hope that you get your package.

While this is probably the courier's fault more than anything,I've had a fairly recent run in with Josh (December)that was pretty foul and unfair. After numerous e-mails he did respond, but his response was childish and then he screwed me out of almost $30.00 in the process of breaking his own policy.Live and learn though,I would never do business with him again.

I've made some calls for oupa.

It's not the the carrier's fault.

I'll leave it at that for now and oupa can respond with what I e-mail him. Unless he asks me to post what I discovered.

You are welcome to outline what you found my friend.....and thanks for your efforts!

I called UPS and talked to the Customer Service Rep, late this morning. The box has not been picked up yet. I asked the UPS rep to pull up the detail record for this shipment and see if there are any entries showing why it hasn't been picked up. She did and she stated that the "shipper" (PVK) entered the information into the system this morning (28 Feb) at 0405. In other words, PVK has been setting on the knife, since the 20th.

Whatta pile of dog do-do. . .and pretty screwed up !

According to the UPS rep, the next pick-up scheduled for PVK is this evening.

I tried calling Josh at PVK, twice, and got an answering machine.

I guess we’ll see what happens.

As soon as I saw that it was PVK I had a feeling that it had nothing to do with the carrier. This happens regularly with Josh. People always make excuses for him - "He's a one man operation", "He is overworked and under staffed". All of this is probably true, but Josh has been giving lousy customer service for years and has not worked very hard, if at all, to improve matters. At some point people just have to realize that there are lots of internet dealers that give way better service than Josh does and have prices that are right in line with his. There is no reason to accept this kind of service from anyone.

I am the one that called Josh repeatedly until he finally answered the phone. The knife ordered never left the store. It may or may not be that UPS didn't come and pick it up. Josh didn't say. He just said he'd overnight it and apologized.

Dirk ordered this knife, as I recall on the 21st.

I ordered my own from Horizon Outdoors on the 22nd. I got my knife on Friday the 25th in the late afternoon shipment UPS.

Dirk paid for the same delivery as I did but from PVK instead of HO and because Monday was a holiday it should have arrived at or around the same time as mine did.

When I talked with Josh at PVK on Friday the 25th because it didn't arrive as it should have,he said it would arrive today. (Monday). It didn't come. In fact the tracking info showed that it had not been picked up for delivery but that the billing info had just been recieved by UPS. That tracking number has been voided.

It is supposed to arrive tomorrow overnighted by Josh. Hopefully that is the case, but the new tracking number forwarded to me by Dirk didn't work. UPS site says number not found.

I hope he gets it too.

It seemed that Josh was sick on the phone last week. At least that is my guess. He sounded choked up and sniffling, so maybe he took a day or two off due to a cold or something and that is why no one answered the phone.

Hey, it happens to us all. I can live with it just keep the person that bought the knife informed. Most people are reasonable until they are told things that are not the truth.

Today he couldn't even find the order on the computer and didn't even know what knife had been ordered by Dirk to ship to me so I don't know how he could know it was supposed to arrive today if it cannot be found.

We'll see what happens.

It struck me funny after all of this to read the mission statement on PVKs website. Maybe they need to review it again just for good measure but it does appear he was concerned enough about the order to 'spank himself, and eat a 25 dollar fee to ship it overnight. (well ok not $25 because Dirk already forked out over half that for the three day, but he did overnight it...I hope.)

Well, we will see, but I am not holding my breath.
The item is described as a "letter" on the UPS Ship Notification and the link does not work.
If it does not arrive at Steve's place tomorrow, I wonder if I'll ever see my money or knife.
Paid by paypal...so that could be a worry as well.
Dirk

I have never heard that Josh has ever ripped someone off. He has been incredibly slow, but has never not come through in the end.

Oupa,

I'm sure you will get your knife. I have read several threads regarding PVK/Josh and none have ever ended with the buyer not receiving the knife. Not that I am saying you don't have a rightful complaint, just that I think you will indeed get your knife in the end.......

The poor costumer service/no communication is nothing new I'm afraid. I have firsthand experience on that myself. Same with knifezilla.com which is run by the same guy.

. . .the new tracking number forwarded to me by Dirk didn't work. UPS site says number not found.

PVK has their own UPS account # and Josh has the capability of entering the transaction into the system via the internet.

Takes all of two to three minutes. . . .if one is slow.

Actually. . .a very simple matter.

For most. :D

I agree w/ SuperD.
Youll get your knife, but when is a whole other matter.

I tried getting a seller account on BA and gave up.
No communication period.
:grumpy:
