Pipe Smokers Unite!!!!!

1-Q is also my favorite.

I have a Peterson pipe I really like and a pipe similar to a Falcon, but much nicer that I also enjoy. My old standby is a $35 briar pipe of unknown brand but smokes great.

I would like to get some Meerchaums and an unfinished Nording someday.

Haven't fired up in a year or so. I agree with cold weather pipe, summertime some nice padrons. I still have my three favorite pipes, all bent bulldogs, two castellos a dunhill. I wish I could remember my favorite blend, lol

Been smoking a pipe longer than cigars. I like MacBaren's Virginia and I have a couple of my Dad's pipes that smoke very well. My favorite is a briar bought as a gift for me in Jackson, Wyoming many years ago.

Just another thing my ex-husband said women shouldn't do. Like shooting and knives and all the fun stuff. Guess he thought he could keep the fun to himself! :D ;)

It must be meant to be seeing this thread. I've been thinking of trying pipe smoking for a long time. I smoke the occasional cigar every so often. Just a couple days ago, while I'm in Jersey, I decided to go to a real tobacco store (hard to find vs head shops) and buy a cheaper bent stem briar pipe (about 40 bucks). Picked up a couple of house brand tobaccos, Broski and Peacemaker. I have vivid memories of my friends dad smoking a pipe while I was growing up. Wish I could figure out which tobacco he smoked. Long story short, I have the goods but haven't tried it yet as it's too damn cold up here in Jersey for my now Florida blood. As an aside the shop owner was super nice and happened to be a travelling man. He noticed my George Washington replica square and compass ring. Being a brother, he took good care of me. For those interested, the shop was located in Howell, NJ and it is called Lite-Em Up Cigars, www.liteemupcigars.com. Can't wait to get home and try out the pipe. Seems as though when you're a newb to pipes, everyone wants to steer you towards the supersweet flavored stuff however I seem to remember my friends dad smoking a more perfumed tobacco. Anyways, dinner is waiting and I'm running on...Looking forward to more info,
Rob

My favorite pipe used to be a beautiful churchwarden fashioned after Aragorn's pipe from The Lord of the Rings. Yeah, I'm a dork. Anyway... it was beautiful, fit in the hand well, and the smoke was always nice and cool. When I started giving up smoking (wife... sheesh), I gave the pipe to my sergeant who had seen and admired it. Its now in his vast collection of churchwardens.

Let me tell you... that was the best pipe to take backpacking and sit around the campfire at night. Dang it, you! Now i wish I still had it.

When smoking that wasnt practical, I had a Sav Second that I enjoyed.

WOW, two weeks into smoking a pipe and I have all but stopped smoking cigs. I was smoking almost a pack a day and now I might smoke two cigs a day. I guess pipe smokers do live longer.:D

Gonna have to see if I can dig mine out. Last I saw my pipe it was in Jerry's office. He got me hooked on Q-1, really a cool tasty smoke.

Don't get your hopes to high Hindsight. My uncle smoked a pipe all his life and now he is dying of lung cancer. Not trying to kill the mood...just saying.

You certainly are a most interesting lady. And I trust that you know I mean that in the best possible way.

FYI do not turn your nose up on a cheap Cob pipe. If your just starting out they are a great way to fill up your rack with out breaking the bank and they prolly smoke better then most cheap briar pipes. Another tip you should not smoke a briar pipe all day every day they need time to dry out between smokes.

I've got a pipe collection and don't even smoke em anymore. This thread might get me back into the hobby. :) I'll get some pictures up asap.

hold on now. i only smoke tobacco in my pipe. plus this is about pipes not hookas :D

Someone needs an intervention. LOL

One of the things I learned from alt.smoking.pipes (dating myself???) years ago was to pack several pipes and leave them for a day or four. Most pipe tobacco is TOO WET to smoke right away. Drying it out will help it stay lit and not burn the p-word outta your tongue.

I really liked the first smoke from a new corncob. You got that corn taste along with the tobacco. After that, it was just tobacco. But they work REAL well, so don't discount them. $5 to test out the hobby vs. $40.

I became somewhat of an expert in vintage Dunhills back in the day. Scored several good deals on Ebay. Sold them all a year later for a small profit.

^^7th pic down in skunk's post looks like a all of the ingredients for a hot night on the town.
