Some great pieces in this thread. I love that stem ^

Just got back last week after spending some time in the Shenandoah Mountains...I had to try some of the flavor of the region! It's a nice light/medium blend and smokes great right from the tin. I like it!!

I thought some of you pipe smokers might appreciate this story in the British press today ;)

A man who accidentally drove into a lake was so “unperturbed” that when paramedics found him he was smoking a pipe inside his sinking car.

The man, who is in his eighties but has not been named, had intended to go fishing but ended up steering his Ford Focus into the water.

Emergency crews were called to Oakham Farm Pools in Loxley, Warwickshire, on Tuesday afternoon.
“After his car ended up in the water, he smoked his pipe and chatted to the farmer, who went into the lake in his waders,” a spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said. “Firefighters carried him from his car back onto land. He wasn’t hurt or even cold but ambulance crews removed his clothing to ensure he didn’t get cold and he was driven home in the ambulance.”

John Hutsby, who owns the farm, said it was the first time he had seen the man at the site. “He must have seen some fisherman on the other side and started driving over to them thinking it was flat,” he said. “But he went straight up the bank and into the pond – he must have taken off.

“The fishermen said they heard an almighty splash, but he was just sitting there and carried on smoking his pipe while the car sank. “It went up to the car windows in the end but he just kept puffing away completely unperturbed by what had happened.”

Reminded me of TV commercials here for Condor pipe tobacco in the 70's and 80's. Ahhh that Condor moment ;)
