Pipes and Traditional knives (cigars welcome)

I gave up all tobacco usage about three years ago and I miss my pipes most of all. For some time now I've been wanting to snap a photo and join in on this thread. Finally got around to it.

When I did smoke a pipe these four were my favorites.

Savinelli 320
Kirsten Mariner
BST custom Pot (Briar, Sweat & Tears)
Vauen Diplomat

The knife is an old Imperial Barlow.

Inspired by the cigar and pipe discussion taking place in the Lounge this morning, I got my pipes out and decided to try and match some of them up with knives that I thought went well together. I've never been a daily pipe or cigar smoker, sometimes a few a week, other times I won't pick either up for a month. I used to smoke my pipes more often than I do now. I have to admit, I never quite felt like I was all that "good" a pipe smoking... sometimes I'll have a great smoke, but other times I can't keep the thing lit, or it burns too hot, or too wet. Maybe you have to do it daily to really get it down right, I don't know. I've been more into cigars the last few years, as they just require less work, but I do still enjoy pipes, so I figured I'd share some of them here. :D

Brebbia Ninja Rock Root Billiard and a Northfield #77 Yankee Jack. I've always loved the texture of this pipe.

Stanwell Majestic No. 11 with a F&F #71 Bull Nose. This was my first pipe.

Ser Jacopo Delecta with a Tidioute #15 Farm Boy. This pipe was a gift from a friend. I thought the colors went well together.

Ascorti New Dear Oom Paul and a Schrade USA 33OT. I'm not positive, but I think both of these might be older than I am.

Radice June Bug (Pease/Di Piazza limited edition, "Pure" Rind finish) with a Maserin Favri. Haven't been able to bring myself to actually smoke this pipe yet.

Brebbia Gio Noce Rhodesian with a Northfield #47 Viper. Love the lines on both of these. My newest acquisition as far as pipes go; haven't smoked this one yet, either.

Brebbia Alpina with a Case Scout/Camp knife.

And last but not least, a simple utilitarian pair: a DGE custom Nose Warmer (made from a Missouri Meerschaum Diplomat) and an Opinel No. 6.

I don't know anything about pipes, but I sure did enjoy looking through your pairings. Nicely done, sir!

Looking back through this thread I find myself surprisingly absent, I don't know why.

Anyway, the other night I sat out on my bench with the dog at my feet and watched trout jumping in the loch behind my house. No midges either - it was bliss.

(Having been disappointed by photoschumcket and foogle picture I'm giving flickr a shot)

I don't smoke, drink or gamble (anymore) but I do like old stuff and I found these old playing cards and the old Robeson at an estate sale.

I briefly smoked pipes back in the day. Now an occasional cigar. But i have to say that this thread has some of the most beautiful pictures - all are well done.

It is a cob, a MM Marcus, that I painted with some old fashioned milk paint I had laying around. Thought I'd try jazzing it up a bit. Smokes very well, and looks a bit different than the usual cob.

Enjoying some Uhle's 00 while admiring this here 14, my first GEC
