Mark Tinsky 2014 Christmas Pipe in his dress coral finish and my new R Bose stockman. Enjoyed a bowl of Frog Morton's Cellar after walking the dog.

I was really hoping a thread like this existed. If not, I was going to start one. One of my other favorite things aside from knives and the great outdoors, is smoking a pipe. Combine all three and you have a heavenly trifecta of awesomeness.

Here is my contribution to this awesome thread. Apologies for the hastily put together picture, it is what I had around me in my office between projects.

A Karl Erik Horn amidst some other niceties...

Very nice picture of a very nice knife and a nice looking pipe Jake .
Never heard of Frog Morton before , but I have not smoked a pipe for 41 years . I still miss it and could start up again. Used to buy from Jim Mates Pipe Shop in San Francisco. Is that a Coral bowl or Briar ??

Harry

Harry, it's briar. The "dress coral" is just the stippling that is carved into the pipe and then given a nice deep shiny black color. I'm just a once in a while pipe enjoyer and the Frog Morton Cellar is a nice light/medium smoke. I can't handle the manly stuff lol.

"Beverages and Blades" and this "Pipes and Traditional Knives" are two of my favorite "fun" threads. I love all of the creative pictures in both.

Here is an older Western sheath knife along with two old dogs. :)

I posted this one a while back in the wrong forum (Cigars and modern folders). Not a lot of love there for a stag-handled jack knife, LOL!

Is that Jake's Jack? ;) (Just kidding).

I'm more of a fixed blade guy. Why doesn't this site have a fixed blade only category? I'm not usually interested in folders, and trying to go through the threads looking for things of interest to me usually just send me to other sites. And when I do go on other sites, there seems to be enough interest in fixed blades that a category for them seems appropriate here.
Also, why are so many photos on here showing what appear to be brand new knives. Don't you folks use them? But anyway, here's my Shrade Old Timer ( on it's second sheath ) with my Edward's Benton Husky pipe.

Here's a thread you'll probably enjoy: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...d-old-basic-fixed-blades-Bowie-s-Stickers-ect

There's TONS of used carbon blade knives showing patina, some knives are new, some are stainless, many keep them looking pristine, some are used lightly, some are recycled pictures from when the knife was new...most posting here are knife fans, some just use there knives for nastier tasks than others.

Not sure if these qualify, they're not really cigars. They sure are Cuban though. Been downtown today, walking past the cigar shop and thought, hey, why not?
