Pit Bulls Only

I got in between a big 80 pound game-bred Pit we had a few years back, that was fighting with our Redbone Coonhound (the fight had just started, over some deer meat) trying to break them up. He got my upper leg in his grip and twisted the bite. I punched him in the top his head and he realized it was me not the hound and turned me loose. But, it left a bruise and a deep purple mark about 6" across. ( I was wearing jeans, thank god) I still have a tiny varicose vein right in the center.

Greatest dogs ever, I've had 3 now and this is my latest one, Butch. He is now 9 years old. I broke up a couple fights he had with my American Bulldog, over food. One time I pulled them apart, and stuck my arm in between. He caught me on the re-bite, but quickly recognized me and let go. I was wearing a heavy sweatshirt, and still have the bite mark. This dog has never been anything but loving, caring, loyal, jolly, goofy and fun.

Hey Bulldog owners ,

why did yall let this thread die??? A.P.B.T. = BULLDOGS are my favorite breed even though i love all dogs.

i just saw this because i was trying to see Joe Paranee's dogo. btw Joe was smart enough to realize he could easily lose his dog
to a hog, so used to dog to hunt other stuff. My Sassy's mom was a pure A.P.B.T. from Catch Dog Enterprise = Hammonds Kennel.

We have one and love him to death. He is actually a Labrabull mix. He is a very pretty Brindle color. His name is Kane. An interesting fact about Pitbulls is they were bred to actually bring down Bulls in the Roman days and never intended at that time to fight other dogs. The two most popular breeds for tearing up bulls were the Blue Poll of Scotland and the Alunt from Ireland. The "Pit" that comes into pitbull was given when they would be placed into a pit to kill rats for sport. More rats killed the higher the points the dog got.

The breed was refined in America to fight in contests against each other, out of the old, bull and terrier breeds. Hence the name American pit bull terrier.

Here is our girl, Lexi. Pit/boxer mix and the best dog I've ever had, ever.
