PIZZA toppings?

Bacon, all kinds of olives, anchovies, mushrooms, oysters, artichokes, refried beans, chicken, peanuts, arugula, pepperoni, pineapple, ham, prosciutto, jambon, Serrano ham, onions, shrimp, garlic, ground beef, jalapenos, sour cream, potatoes, tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, and I probably missed a few.

The trick is to mix the flavors for the right contrast or compliment and some of them can only be added after cooking . Last one I made was shiitake mushroom, garlic, and smoked oysters that went on when it came out of the oven.

Next topic. What kind of cheese.

Cheese curds. chopped up to the same size as the green olives.

a nice sprinkling of mozzarella and parmesan is acceptable.

i tried shredded asiago cheese once and it is pretty good too. although the price isnt worth the difference to me.

If you're the one eating it, I say put whatever you like on YOUR pizza. It's nobody's business but your own.

One of my favorite pizzas is topped only with ANCHOVIES and CLAMS but few places offer both of thes choices. Sometimes 1 or the other but seldom both. Goes GREAT w/beer! This reminds me that I need to find a place nearby where I can buy it. LOL! ;)

Absent this choice, I'll always choose a pizza with as much MEAT on it that they offer. It is usually called the "Meat Lovers Pizza" or some variant of that. It will almost always include pepperoni, sausage & ham and sometimes ground beef and bacon. Yum! :)

Grandma pizza in da house!

One of the best pizzas I have ever had is a modified Reuben pizza . . . pastrami, melted swiss cheese, and sauerkraut on a spicy mustard sauce. Got a local restaurant chain to make one for me one night, and the manager of the place came around and said it was so good he was gonna try to get the owner add it to the menu. Guess it didn't take 'cause AFAIK they never did put it on the menu.

As far as putting pineapple on a pizza . . .

(NSFW)

Simple for me: onion, bell pepper, shrooms, and maybe some hamburger and/or black olives if the mood strikes. I do require sides of both bbq sauce and homemade buttermilk ranch (none of that store bought swill) to dip my crusts in after finishing the rest of each slice.

The recipe I use for my ranch. I wish I could give proper credit, but I found it online several years ago and cannot refind the original page. This stuff is freaking amazing.

For homemade I stick with oily toppings to keep the moisture down.
My oven hits 550f and makes a passable pizza but that temperature is not hot enough to evaporate the water that comes out of veggies, shrooms, and fresh mozzarella.
Just makes for a wet pizza.
So pepperoni, bacon and sausage are my go-to at home, shrooms/peppers/onions when I get delivery.
Here's one I made last weekend on my new Lodge cast iron pizza steel.
The dough was a little elastic and wouldn't stretch as thin as I like but it was tasty.

I'm garnering a fair bit of heat for my taste in pizza toppings.

I dont care what anyone says.

GREEN OLIVES BELONG ON PIZZA.

My favorite pizza is:
GREEN OLIVE AND PINEAPPLE
sometimes with chicken and bbq sauce sometimes with ham.

Once I had a Bbq Green olive pizza with bacon cheddar pickles and beef that was awesome.

Well here's my point. Apparently I need help in deciding appropriate pizza ingredients. So, let's use this space to discuss the right and wrong ways to make pizza.

HELP ME FEEL NORMAL PLEASE.
Green Olive and Pineapple....
Add "anchovies" and I'm in.

All this pizza talk today made me cave in and order one. My lack of self control is located in the bottom left portion of the pie.

It's almost like I have an obsessive compulsive disorder similar to one who buys excessive amounts of things I already have too much of.

😁

My lack of self control is located about 75% further into that baby than you got before you found yours.

Very tempting choices.. Can't do it though, the more toppings the more calories.. I love Pizza, so with minimal toppings I can have it on regular bases guilt-free..
