Plain vs. Serrated Blades

Err...I guess I had no idea this was such a contentious issue when I started this thread:eek::p. But thanks to everyone anyway - elitist and peon alike!:D

On the plus side, having now finally decided on a plain edge for my RC-5, I feel a touch of elitism coming on already:D! (with apologies to PayetteRucker for keeping that theme going...:p)

Haha, congrats. I have a feeling you'll fit in just fine around here. ;)

So, why not place a short row of serations on the spine of the blade? Either immediately after a suitably shaped bolster, on the spine of the tip.

What? And do away with our elite status? I don't think so.

We will never rest until serrations are on all knives! Every knife must be the same and have appropriate serrations or the wielder will be considered an enemy to the working class! POWER to the PEOPLE!

That's communism! :p Got our share of it around these parts.

I haven't really been following this thread but when the hell is RAT going to put out a full serrated machete?

Bear, that's coming. We are working with a Communist country to produce it, but we're getting close.

Yep, and will be made available to everyone whether they can afford it or not. It will be the ultimate "little people peon" machete. We will probably do a higher scale plain edge one for our elitist friends who, as we all know, are the real pros at using a knife.

Ah, another product made right here in the U.S.A! Maybe Congress, seemingly in possession of more money than they can ever hope to spend, will start a "Cash for Cutters" program so that we can trade in our junky old plain edge machetes for serrated ones.
