THis Kenny Rowe rig is a bit unusual, S.O.B. style, but it works well, as long as I remember to angle my VERY SHARP knife away from my body.

I was thinkin' it would be nice to have a Kydex for weak-side carry...

Knife was stripped and convexed by me, but came w/ a polished spine.

I like kydex for the way you can just slide it in and its locked.... but I have had bad luck with getting scratches on every single knife i have ever put in kydex... ok, not scratches, but RUBS at the least......

I like leather... but i'm also over 30. LOL

It is horses for courses...kydex if lightness and multiple carry options are desired...leather for maybe a more razor sharp knife which could dull in kydex and slices plastic slivers from the sheath when drawn or inserted......or for one which is worn in extreme cold temps where kydex can shatter...

Sometimes for me it is the task and company I am in which dictates Leather. My Deer Stalking knives are all in Leather bushcrafter type sheaths...I don't want to come across as too "military" in those circles where being "invited" to shoot is required...Leather seems to be more of an "outdoorsman" statement IMO ....Kydex I use for my webbing knives that get to crawl in the mud and are "hosed" down with my other kit...
