If I had to narrow it down to one...very, very tough to do...I would have to pick my S&W 625 with the harder to find 5 inch barrel. It is not my sentimental* favorite or my most accurate** but it is the most versatile revolver I own. Although a bit big it carries well for CCW work in a Kramer cross draw holster. It is more than accurate enough for informal competitions, and with the right loads can be used to hunt just about anything on the North American continent and elsewhere. Mine has been modified by Clark and will handle 45acp, 45 Super, 451 Detonics, and the 460 Rowland. This allows for loads for light plinking up to launching a 230 JHP at 1340fps. Add in the speed of full moon clips for reloads and this gun is a winner all the way.

*My sentimental favorite is the first handgun my Dad gave me when I was 14, a Ruger Old Model Blackhawk in 45Colt/45ACP.

**Most accurate revolver is a Glenn Custom 686 .357

favorite revolver?

Any of the modern K frame Smith and Wessons. Accurite shooting guns, lifetime warentee, exelent custom shop, and very versitile. One of the few companies that you can get a rimfire revolver and a center fire revolver that is almost identical, like a 4 inch 617, and a 4 inch .357. I like having my handguns all feel the same.

I said it before & I'll say it again.Smith & Wesson 686 .357 4" barrel.The most comfortable & reliable revolver I've had the pleasure of owning.

Mine is the Ruger (old) Vaquero in 45 colt. It is the bird's head model with the 3.5" barrel.

:thumbup::thumbup:
I've owned several 66's and two 686's... I've finally settled on my 4" 686 I found used and someone had done one magnificent trigger job on it!
Everyone who shoots it loves it and several have wanted to buy it... Nope, it's on my bugout vest and is the one I have found to offer the versatility I'd need under those circumstances...

But by the nightstand is my Tupperware!!!:D

S&W 329PD, since it is great to carry and still capable of firing a round that'll stop about anything in the continental U.S.

Them's sum purdy wheelguns. :D I've been thinking of picking up an SP101 3" in .357 for a while now, I need to just bite the bullet and get one. Seems like it would make a good trail gun, and lighter than my 1911.

I just bought a NIB 4in stainless 686, it is my only revolver so it is my favorite. I do have a 50th aniversary blackhawk in .357 on layaway though........

I like plastic just fine, and in fact own 11 Glocks, but its a S&W 442 that rides in my pocket all day every day.

I like that one.

I want one like that.

Actually... I want THAT one.

You should give it to me. (after all... in today's socialist leaning society, it's only fair that you give it to me:D)

I like my Glenn 686, the trigger is the smoothest and lightest DA trigger I have ever seen. That one came to me when Mickey Fowler switched to an auto for NRA Action Pistol and sold me both his Glenn Customs. From a rest it will easily shoot into an inch at fifty yards. The entire L-Frame line from S&W has a great reputation for accuracy.

The J-Frame S&W's do make great BUGs but I still use a Colt Detective for that role, and a Kel-Tec PF-9 for a pocket gun.

Ruger GP-100. Stainless .357, heavy shrouded 4 inch barrel. Adjustable sights. Uncle Mikes Custom rubber grips. That's my favorite revolver, with the 6 inch stainless Colt Python running right up there.

Sweeeet:thumbup: I am soo jealous:grumpy:

My Smith & Wesson 629.

I usually load a Bear Creek 240gr SWC over 9gr of Universal for this revolver, this runs right at 1050fps.Patrick

One of my favorite revolvers I got talked out of was a marriage of Ruger and Colt. I used it for PPC and when I quit shooting that discipline I got talked out of it by a friend, tho if he was really a friend he would sell it back to me...lol. This is a Ruger Security Six with Python barrel. Smolts were fairly common at the time and I always like the unusual.

that is a sweet wheelgun, Ive never seen such a thing. Sad you let it get away though....

you know, Im suprised in this day and age no one has made a polymer framed revolver. I love my Glock 19(the only plastic I own) but c'mon that would just ruin the lines of a classic.

colt python .357mag with a 4 inch barrel... best in every respect as far as i can see... well except maybe concealability.

I had that put together years ago when Gun Parts had some barrels they were selling cheap. I think I still have a 6" blue python barrel, could find another Ruger but in blue and do it again...lol.
