Please end the nightmare...lol

Came across the

Really liking these as well especially the 2018 Megalodon Eclipse.

The Ti framelock version gets consistently good reviews. Many caution against the inferior versions tagged with the Megalodon family moniker.

And these two ZT 0452s just showed up in the sales forum.

Very nice! Congrats. Let us know what you think!

I picked the Real Steel Megalodon 2017 just because it was the best deal for me. Full Ti & m390 for $181 usd where as the ZT 0452CF was $263.52 usd and the WE 913 was $308.69 usd. I did miss a deal for $233 usd on a ZT 0452CF but I'm glad to try something different. I don't really like the look of the Megalodon as much as the others that were posted which is good because I won't mind scratching it up. I've got a Shirogorov F95T and a heavily customized Spyderco Ti Military that before my disability were BNIB and I decided to carry them as EDCs. I did my usual EDC acid bath, tumble, & mirror polish edge treatment but both knives have never been carried still sitting in their boxes unused because they were too nice/$ to put into rotation...don't think I will have this problem with the Megalodon. lol Thanks to everyone that posted I really appreciate the help!

Ordered the Real Steel Megalodon 2017 late Monday afternoon and it arrived this morning. West coast to east coast in less than 2 days for $9! That's the fastest for me, usually its a week minimum. I'm all out of ferric acid and didn't expect the knife this fast so had to order some. My initial impression was "Oh no its small!" but when I opened it there's a lot of blade in there...kind of how a large Sebenza seems small until you open it. Action felt a little gritty so I disassembled (no thread locker on screws or pivot) degreased, oiled and removed lanyard. Action still felt a little rough but it was the detent ball cutting its track. I helped it along by oiling the ball and applying slight pressure to the lockbar while I worked the action a dozen times or so. Now its pretty smooth like maybe 80% Shiro smooth which for this price is sweet. For what its worth I did several spine whack tests in which I struck the spine hard more than a dozen times each test and couldn't make it fail. It came shaving sharp and slices almost as good as some of the top Spyderco slicers that I've had which were also flat grinds but were .5 to 1 mil thinner blade stock. I'll wait to acid/stonewash and reprofile when it gets dull or at least until my ferric acid arrives...satin finishes drive me nuts because they're fingerprint magnets. I've only been using it for a couple of hours so can't say much more but I will say that the handle, which to me is almost ugly in pics, is one of the most comfortable I'v held especially full Ti. I think its comfort in hand and how small it carries were the biggest surprises I had and its pocket clip is decent too at least with my Costco cargo pants. lol
