Please Help Me Name This Pattern!

Michael - sorry to say, Whisper is already taken - Ken Onion has a knife by that name. Mongoose sounds good and it isn't taken :)

Stingray (my favorite)

Badger

Falcon

Hammerhead (as in shark)

'Cuda

Sidewinder

Slipstream

Fulcrum

Zephyr

Terminus

Appocalypse

Anyway, nice folders Mike. I mean really nice. That blade style is excellent. The overall 'package' in there. You have my admiration and respect. You've huhg in there and come out with a real winner. I could hope to do as well.

My apologies to Ken, while I greatly admire his work, I am not familiar enough with his line to know the names of his models. "Whisper" just popped into my head last night.

Thanks for straightening that out Dexter, and sorry for a little false hope Mike...

Still nice knives...named or not! :)
Nick

You think you were thinking "Mongoose" but you were really thinking "Ferret" :p :)

Lmao Dave, I actually thought of Ferret but didn't wanna plagerize it.Now that Max has thrown in hammerhead I'm leanin that way. The way the knife is designed, a flat part of the tang sticks out of the front of the frame. If you need to do some light tapping/hammering, you can use it for that. Guess it's time to break out the coin and start flippin.

When the names you like best are already used it may be time to think outside our usual box i.e. try a foreign language.

Example: Fuka it's Japanese for shark. It's pronounced fooka.

It's exotic sounding and think of the advertising copy possibilities!

The downside is the possibility the name will be mis-pronounced...but then again that might not be all bad. Again think of the advertising potential!

You can add to it and call it Mesu Fuka (Female Shark)

Another example: Tori...Japanese for claw or sharp(finger)nail.

Just some thoughts.

Max, I read your suggestions again and one of em just fits so well it jumped right out at me. I'm calling this folder the Sidewinder. I like it for two reasons, the knife is a side opener and it'll darn sure bite ya if you're not careful.:D Well, three reasons, I love rattle snakes! Thanks everyone for the kind words and the great suggestions!!!!

Actually, the edge of the blade kind of resembles the track a sidewinder leaves in the sand. Sidewinder fits it good Mike.

I think "sidewinder" is also the name of a cheap Chinese copy of an older balisong that was just released in the past few months. Might want to check on that to be sure.

Just do a search for "sidewinder" in the balisong forum, you'll see what I'm talking about.
