Please Help me Sell Knives

I would say that the best thing any knifemaker could do is to get their knives as much exposure to the hunting/fishing market as possible. Rather than trying to compete for ad placement within a knife mag or knife related website go after the hunting magazine/website, fishing magazine/website people. These industries are huge compared to the custom knife market.

I also wanted to add that I think that the knives you make are absolutely beautiful. I believe that you have a style that is clearly definable as a brand and completely your own. While I don't own one of your knives yet, I look forward to the day in which I'll be able to.

Thank you very much for that.

:rolleyes:Arthur is just being honest.

You are genuinely good at what you do. I'm proud to own a small set of Fiddlebacks ... which will grow with time.

Hang in there, and (as Horton says) "keep it real.":)

BTW, the knife sold, so I just removed it from that page. This is the knife in question:

Great ideas here guys.

I have a buddy that does my web design, and its really hard to keep up with. I need to figure that bird out.

Just e-mailed Jim at Working Knives.

Ebay is an idea I hadn't even given serious thought to. Hmm. Couldn't hurt.

Thanks Guys!

If you go the eBay route, please take and post good pics of your work (I think you already have this covered!!). I can't tell you how many knives I've passed up on eBay because the pics sucked and/or the seller was not willing to send additional pics via email.

Just a word of advice: Good pics, descriptions and communication with potential buyers, sells knives.

Good luck.....I hope all goes well for you. I've had my eye on a couple of your knives....as soon as some funds become available, I'll be contacting you.

Regards,
-Michael

Include sheaths with your knives. And to keep the cost down on the total package, learn to make your own kydex. I was very close to buying one of your knives a week or two ago, but the sheath thing turned me off. One other thing I would like to suggest is using more micarta.

Btw, you have great looking knives.
