Member JEEPIN sent me this email below,about a deal we had for a gameboy.I had forgot the skirmish had a piece of grip tape on 1 side of the handle otherwise the knife is 100% NIB.

I do not think the tape was a big deal and the adhesive can be cleaned off EZ IMO with windex.I also sent him a pair a brass knuckles and a boker auto as part of this deal.

WD 40 would take it off too. I don't know I think he may be blowing a bit out of proportion. Grip tape usually just leaves the sticky residue, lots of stuff will take it off. If the knife is otherwise as stated I figure you're good to go, with the caveat that there wasn't an inspection period. If there was and he ain't happy you gotta trade back. keepem sharp

PS I would appreciate the threat either, but that is just me.:(
 
No inspecton period was talked about.

The 630 came from member HERBIEDUKE and was NIB when I got it from him and I never used it at all for anything ...I just put a stripe of tape on it for the hell of it and forgot about it and never looked at the knife before I shipped it out...My BAD.:eek: :foot:

FWIW-The knuckles and boker were NIB,NO TAPE:o

I try to keep my rep very clean...so I thought I would ask my PEERS to judge this..THANKS PEOPLE.
 
Well AL you I know well, and frankly you are AS GOOD as they come period!
With that said..A deal isnt done till both parties are satisfied IMHO. If he no like...GB back, knife and goodies returned and both parties go there own way. If he would be satisfied with further product as compensation, and cool with you to avoid the whole having to resell process, than be specific in what you would send him in order to make him feel comfy with the transaction. I dont think the tape is a big deal at all. BUT frankly not my call, if the buyer does, than "it is what it is" Either wayyy the pups and I will always Love ya, you knucklehead:D

If you want the deal than spice it up. Otherwise just reverse the transaction and call it a day.

Personalities are all different. I may think the residue is easy to remove. Others may think it wasn't what you agreed to.....

I think Jeepin should have at least tried contacting you about this situation before blackmailing you for more stuff. Not cool in my book.

Grip tape residue is worth a few seconds of cleaning, tops.
Has the guy ever heard of goo gone? If you clean the residue off, there shouldnt be any mark or discoloration, unless it somehow magically discolored the Ti handle, which is unlikely.
I wouldnt send more items, if it was me, I would just undo the deal.

WOW!!! :eek: If that is an accurate quote (and I'm not alleging that it's not) and it was his first response to you after the trade; then I think that you both should simply undo the "deal". Everyone return everything. Silly threats that come across as sly extortion should not be given any latitude. :rolleyes:

The only thing that might change the color of the Ti underneath the grip tape would be if the Ti oxidized a little from hand sweat or something, and didn't under the grip tape. But the windex, or if it's bad, toothpaste on a rag will take that off. I'd just reverse it and leave it at that. Or give him 10 bucks.
 
Am I reading this right? A skirmish is WORTH much more than a Gameboy!! Let alone the other items you sent, UNDO the deal.

I would just reverse the deal. I wouldn't send one more thing in exchange for a little glue residue, especially if I had received an email extorting me for more stuff. I don't take well to that kind of BS.
 
I tell you what Al William, I have a gameboy advance that's not being used, it has all the attachments and 2 games. Undo the deal with the other guy, now. You pay for the shipping I will give you the gameboy I have. It's in perfect working order, kid doesn't use it anymore. Send me an Email if you are interested.
 
I thought it was a fair deal with games and all.

I am very EZ to deal with as those who know me know.

Okay I was upset, I removed the griptape( I was upset he didnt tell me about it). Removing the grip tape was easy, then I tried removing the mark which the griptape left. No can do. I shouldnt have asked for something else to make up for it. My bad:(

Hardly...YOU have stood up and done the right thing. NONE of us are perfect and we have ALL had those kind of days. head up and move on...admitting ones mistakes deserves respect. Looks like all worked out:D
