PLEASE POST YOUR TRADITIONAL GERMAN FIXED BLADES & POCKET KNIVES,

Hi Everyone :)

There were MANY Solingen Firms that produced outstanding Pocket Knives as well as Fixed Blades, some of these the finest possible work there is.

Please Note:
We already have a dedicated HENCKELS Thread, and also a dedicated BOKER Thread - so please although it would be nice have your photos of these very nice Knives in here- please post in these Threads, I think its very important to keep the Henckels and Boker Threads running as strong as they can be as there is so much history, Facts, education and amazing Photos in these Threads - they must keep going.

Here is a real nice Two Bladed Jack by Lutters & Co, Man the Polished finish on the Baldes is outstanding and a pure pain when trying to Photograph the Knife lol
LOVE the Wood used, Swage work is great! As you could imagine the Walk and Talk is outstanding - a very nicely finished Knife.

Nice idea for a thread, Duncan. I know I'm gonna enjoy watching what shows up here. I have always like wood handled knives and the equal end Lutters you started with is a real beauty, as well as all the others. I also have to mention that large Bowie, a handsome and impressive knife.

Wow Jack - no surprises that you will have more than a few German Knives, oh yes my friend so remember that Carl Schlieper well - that Knife was a favourite- I wasn’t too up on my Sharpening with the Traditional Stones - but that thing used to sharpen up to be scalpel like! Wonderfully built that Knife.
I remember Vince had quite a handful of these - I regret not buying the lot of them - but I am sure that we ALL could say that about some time in our past dealings in Knives.

All those Knives are great - that Richartz is a beauty!
Yes, it takes a great edge Duncan, it really is a beautiful knife :) A lot of the German knives I have, have little information on the tangs, particularly those produced between the two world wars. Thanks buddy, reckon I can find a few more pics :)

Now then gaffer! :) It's good to see you here Elliott :) A quality quintet there

I did start with the idea of answering every post, but because of the huge amount of very nice German Knives out there- I simply cant my friends - so please do not be offended by any means if I haven't quoted your post :)

baxtrom baxtrom Your Knife is most probably a Decora ,I saw you posted thoughts on the Handle material, it is a tough Plastic - although I don't Delrin, if you look up DECORA- then hit the "images" you will have a lifetime of information come your way kind Sir.

Arathol - really enjoyed your posts- but it's great see a Knife with the same frame as my Thompson's Guide Knife- Your Bulldog Brand Calf Roper is nice in so many ways!

Guys.... it took to the 2nd page for an Anchor Messer to turn up :D .? Very much earned its good reputation for being a very affordable and super reliable Worker!

Im am really enjoying seeing these Knives coming out! Many thanks everyone!

Here is a Knife I suspect is German- as did the seller, This is one very nicely built Knife by a very good Cutler firm- everything about this Knife is Quality.

I was in the mind it may be a Henckels- but that I think is my minds bias, In the end it may not even be German, I can see a slightly different Coloured pin in the nice Nickle Silver Bolsters- but then again some of the top Solingen Cutlers don't have the prominent Pin showing - so taking care of what material is used for the pins obviously.
I will post this here for no and this will be a knife that is actually ( and hopefully be received ) as a gift, my very good friends Lady in his life enjoys carrying a pocket Knife, I have this in mind for her. a bit worried about the slightly stout pull though- we will see.
Extremely Tidy, a high Quality Knife - my friend Roland whom sold me the Knife says that it may have been a Salesman Sample therefore having no identifying features - these have not been removed either- this is a totally untouched Vintage. Hey - it may turn out to be USA, i need more time to dig out my Whittlers from Schrade etc

Great to see you up above a-Hovering Elliot :)

Here is a Ivory Whittler by the very famous Herder, this Knife was in the Herder Factory Display Collection. Changes in the Humid conditions over time can be cruel to Ivory- as it does with Ivory I guess depending on the Humidity conditions the Ivory Cracks.
I love these types of Knives that are crafted by Craftsmen, it an absolute Joy to be able to hold and try to take in the fine mechanism workings of this Knife - for it to be so so crammed in and this Knife has not a hint of anything like Blade rub. Extreme precise Top Quality Knife beautifully Finished and the Walk and Talk is superb.

I apologise because the Photos suck- it was a very dark dull day and trying to Photograph an extremely High Polished Knife is hard - or was hard this day that's for sure, so the Photos do very little justice to such a nice Knife....

Note Herders great Keys Stamps on the Tangs..
