I have one of these "drei nieten" but the rivets are stainless, not brass. Yours really stand out! I am considering engraving my initials on the rivets, or maybe my farm brand ("E&E", also three symbols).

My version has amazing snap. Yours?
They snap like bear traps. The brass rivet versions are a little harder to get because of the wood they use for the handles. They’re only sold in Germany and not exported for sale. Something about the wood coming from an endangered type of tree?

I ordered the one with the patina direct from a knife store in Germany. The other I got from a forum member who had done the same.

Your engraving idea sounds good. I bet it would look nice.
 
I was playing with my Otters today, so I took a few pictures.





Left to right (all C75 carbon steel except the beekeepers knife which is basically 420HC stainless steel)
- Weavers knife - copper and carbon fiber bolster and ebony covers
- Large Anchor knife - African Blackwood covers
- Large Anchor knife - Sapele wood covers
- Three rivet knife - African Blackwood covers
- Beekeepers knife - Sea Buckthorn wood covers
- Large Hippekniep - Plumwood covers

The tip on the Weavers knife was a bit proud, just catching the fleshy tip of my finger when closed. I ground down the kick slightly on the Tormek to lower it.

The three-rivet and beekeepers knives are different versions of the same pattern.



They are all generously proportioned, practical knives for larger hands.



Ballistol works well to remove patina from the brass and carbon steel blades and to protect against rust.

The quality is great all round, no gaps no play, good actions and centered blades.

I don't think the brand get enough credit. They are all excellent.

I found this in a sad state in my grandpaps shed after he passed in 02

It says made in germany and that's it. The stag covers are pinned to each other but not through the tang and it's all tightened together with a pomell nut. It's loosely goosey. Needs some more sanding too, but overall a really cool knife I forgot about til recently
