PLEASE POST YOUR TRADITIONAL GERMAN FIXED BLADES & POCKET KNIVES,

I was playing with my Otters today, so I took a few pictures.

Left to right (all C75 carbon steel except the beekeepers knife which is basically 420HC stainless steel)
- Weavers knife - copper and carbon fiber bolster and ebony covers
- Large Anchor knife - African Blackwood covers
- Large Anchor knife - Sapele wood covers
- Three rivet knife - African Blackwood covers
- Beekeepers knife - Sea Buckthorn wood covers
- Large Hippekniep - Plumwood covers

The tip on the Weavers knife was a bit proud, just catching the fleshy tip of my finger when closed. I ground down the kick slightly on the Tormek to lower it.

The three-rivet and beekeepers knives are different versions of the same pattern.

They are all generously proportioned, practical knives for larger hands.

Ballistol works well to remove patina from the brass and carbon steel blades and to protect against rust.

The quality is great all round, no gaps no play, good actions and centered blades.

I don't think the brand get enough credit. They are all excellent.

Well, they are indeed lovely, but I encourage you not to play with your otter in public, no matter how generous its proportion. 😄

I found this in a sad state in my grandpaps shed after he passed in 02

It says made in germany and that's it. The stag covers are pinned to each other but not through the tang and it's all tightened together with a pomell nut. It's loosely goosey. Needs some more sanding too, but overall a really cool knife I forgot about til recently
hello, i have one very similar , i guess it'a a very generic blade and handle varies... mine is stamped solingen on one side of the ricasso and h/ r / b / (can't figure out) usson. false edge is more obvious on mine. handle is the same, but my guard is shorter
i have another one the exact same size but branded Puma! and pommel is a puma (you see the trick)

I do not know how old this knife that I got at the Badger Blade Show 3 or 4 years ago is . It has brass liners and has a Stainless Blade . I just bought it because I had never seen a knife with such Thick Stag Slabs . Maker's stamp says C.JUL.HERBERTZ .
Length is 4 &,3/8 inches and still Solid and pretty heavy and not a pretty knife .
Width across Stag at widest point is 1 inch . Each Slab is 3/8 inch thick
Blade is not quite Centered and still snaps into the Lock Position and releases well . When closed the blade tip rests on a Leather insert into the Well .
Just average Stag on the Mark Side . Stag on the Pile Side has very deep Groove of approx. 1/8 inch .

Harry, that's a very cool knife! Usually when Stag is hafted so perfectly in areas where the edge of the Stag is a hair-width, but at the end of the day you just cannot dislike Stag, and I think that knife is kinda-cool!
It does make you wonder why they didn't take down the inside of the Stag to make the handles thinner, obviously the desired effect the Cutler wanted.
