PM2 or Custom Griptilian?

I just ordered a set of Orange G10 Cuscadi scales with a smooth black backspacer and was very pleased with the ordering process while communicating with Luke at Cuscadi. These sure look like quality scales.

I love the PM 2, I have 3 of em, S30V, S35VN and M390. I think my next knife is going to be a custom ritter.

so Ive decided on a Grip, but is the steel upgrade worth the extra money?

if you're going to upgrade the steel, get a ritter. you don't have as many choices for scale color but like everyone else said, the ritter blade is superior to the standard benchmade.

and you made a good choice, i have a pm2, standard and ritter grips and always end up grabbing the grips over the pm2. they're easier to close one handed and contrary to what most people think, the standard scales are fine. the pm2 does have a nice ergonomic shape but the rounded grip feels just as good or better, imho.

I just received this Digi Cam P2 beauty from Cutlery Shoppe today as a sibling to my Orange CTS-XHP. (Thanks again, Jeff!)

This has to be one of the finest <$100 knives I have ever purchased that I can recall. And such a fine overall EDC too.

If you can't see it or have a hard time locating it in the picture, it's sitting just above the Orange P2 in these pictures :D

I prefer my grips with custom scales...

Those are beautiful. May I ask where you got the second (dark blue) set of scales? If you could include whatever description used by the dealer (so I could pursue a similar set) that would be great.

Appreciate the photos.

I have both PM2 and Grip but non modded still as they arrived (for the moment) :) In my opinion and that's all it is a newbies opinion I use my knives daily on cardboard, rope and hydraulic hose in power plants. And while I love my PM2 I have had better use out of my Grip. Although I will be replacing the handle scales on it they feel ok but look like they belong on a knife purchase at a booth in the flea market that sells fake LV handbags :) ..... My 2 cents

Cant lose with either, but i vote Pm2. I like the blade shape a little more than the grip's.

If you do get a grip, custom scale it. Don't like the plastic handle. I have a bone collector axis, wood handle. Love it.

I have quite a few of each and like both, but there's no question that the Para2 is a much, much more polished knife in terms of design. The only thing that would swing me strongly toward the Grip is if I wanted genuine ambidexterity. Others will disagree, but I find the Para2 not terribly useful in my left hand.

Apparently nobody read your post. I see that you revived an old thread to inquire about a set of aftermarket scales for a Griptilian. They appear to be Cuscadi Aero Carbon Fiber scales. If I'm wrong, somebody please correct me. Just google Cuscadi Aero Carbon and see what comes up. Good luck.

Aside from the guy asking about the scales, you guys do realize the OP has probably already decided on which knife to get....at least id hope so seein how this thread is 2yrs old

Both are great and you really can't go wrong with either. If pressed, I'd pick the pm2 every time though. Great ergos and better scale material in my opinion.
