PM2 or wait longer and buy a Sebenza?

You will end up with an SnG.
rolf

For his sake lets hope not !!!

Just giving you a hard time Rolf for mentioning an SnG in about every post of yours I've read this year, not matter the thread topic :D:p

I know a lot of people have said the same thing, but I will add my two cents. In terms of actual use and longevity, a Paramilitary will perform as long as a Sebenza unless you set out to destroy the PM2. If you truly have the bug for a Sebenza, just save your money and buy one. I wasted a lot money buying knives that were kinda sorta like a Sebenza until I got one. I no longer have one, but I am no longer mystified by the knife either. I can enjoy budget and mid priced knives knowing that really high end knives are only better by degree, not by a magnitude of improvements.

Kenny- You wascal! ;)
Hey I made the call on the CQC7! The SnG is the only folder that bumped my 7 as my EDC.
OP- The Sebenza and the Military are two of the finest folders out there. I had a Seb but a Para Military won out. Until, I got an SnG in my hand.
You cannot go wrong. Only time will tell which knife YOU like best.

timberweasel pretty much summed it up. It's not about need but rather want. Most of us have had capable knives since we got our first pair of jeans! The average Joe isn't the guy on this forum so we're all pretty much enthusiasts. Some are completely content with a $18 SAK & others fancy a $4k custom. To say a Sebenza isn't "worth it" is silly. My first car was a '65 Ford that I got from a neighbor for $120. My second car a '71 Super Beetle that I paid $1200 for. Was the Beetle 10x the car? Not according to some people's logic. Both got me to work just the same, but I had a lot more fun in the Beetle shifting gears and occasionally taking it in the dirt. It's Ok to want something nice & when you get into the position to afford it, then good. I bet there isn't a Dad on this forum that wouldn't trade his precious Sebenza for a loaf of bread & some firewood if his family was hungry & cold. He'd carry on with that old pocketknife just fine.

I have the same problem. I would like to own a chris reeve, or a custom, but sometimes you just want something new right now! Then something less expensive comes along that catches your eye that you can afford to buy it, so you do. The Para2s come available now and then, but they still go pretty fast. I you can afford a Para2 now, I would say go ahead and get it, and have a special knife fund and save up for the sebenza.
