Pm3 crucarta check

A couple of more comments for anyone thinking of getting one of these "Cru-carta" knives :
The EXTRA pamphlet that comes with the knife is fascinating reading . A nice addition ! Thank you Spyderco .

and I hesitate to mention it but may end up posting it in the Spyderco forum because there was a request for this information but it was denied due to it being "proprietary " . . . the tempering temp is mentioned in relation to PVD coating . I mean the info is published with this knife so . . .
No need to say what it is here but it is with this knife . How secret can it be ?
Probably some aspect of this I am not "getting" .

Mostly I got this CPM Cru-wear because it just might turn out to be my favorite steel to sharpen and touch up . I need to investigate this further .

EDIT TO ADD : the inner edges of the liners (what I have called the blade slot) is nicely debured / no sharp edges here . WELL DONE SPYDERCO !

More is better , right ?
I just did two things :
1. I attempted to raise the slightest bur using the Spyderco Ultra Fine Triangle rod hand held / edge trailing , using the corner not the flat . Kind of ala Vivi = Coarse ish sharpening bevel then use the Ultra Fine he says .

I could get almost zero response to this . Meaning , as far as I can tell , the edge is super well debured at the factory . I mean there was just no anomalous material there that I could move to one side or the other of the apex .

Before trying this the edge was scrape arm hair or better than that . I mean we were not popping individual hairs but after a pass on a short section of my arm I had a good amount of hair on the side of the blade . So , basically, the edge was not easy to improve THE EDGE IS QUITE HIGH QUALITY !
Case knives could not even conceive of an edge this good let alone produce it day in and day out .

(I still LOVE YOU CASE ; I was carrying and using two of your knives today at work . Jigged Black Delrin Trapper and the Damascus Mini Trapper with Wharnnie blade as the second blade )

2. I put the blade in my goniometer (I hope that is how I should spell it) and there were clear but curved lines of red laser light at about 17 degrees per side .
There appears to be sharpening bevels that are more acute than that and then the more "polished / refined " micro bevel at 17 . That is what I think I am seeing. I used a 10x jeweler's visor while messing around with the above .
