  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Pocket Destroyers

I actually build trails in the mountains of Washington state for a living, and probably use my knives more than 90% of the users on this site. I wear 5.11s because they are tough, not full cotton, light and comfortable. Not because they are mall ninja or tacticool.

was just jokin around for fun. wasnt meant to be taken seriously. plus im jealous i cant wear my commando pants when working.;)

My 0777 is eating my pockets alive. The jeans I have on now are particularly ripped up. The clip is really stiff and the contact point is really sharp so it just shreds that hem to individual threads

OK, I don't understand this. If you guys have clips that are too tight, why don't you bend them just a hair to open them up?

On my Cold Steel American Lawman I bent the clip the tiniest bit to open it up, then sanded off the high points of the G10 about 1/4" on both sides of the contact point of the clip to the scales. It is a new knife! Clip grips perfectly, and the G10 doesn't destroy my jeans.

You should think about doing this rather than to have a knife face the worst fate (not being carried!) or having to worry about shredded pockets.

I can't believe that nobody mentioned the Benchmade 520. This is the original classic pocket shredder.

No other knife can hold a candle to the shredding powers of the 520. One thing is for sure though: It will NEVER accidentally come out of your pocket.

I rotate knives a lot so I can't nail down just which one is the culprit but this is what my jeans end up looking like.
