Eh, I was just pickin'. Sucks about the laws there. I dunno my state's laws yet since I can't buy a pistol anywho, but I'm assuming they're not great either.

i don't live in Kali anymore, but from what i've heard, it's easy to get a CA CCW in some counties.

so if you had a vacation property there, and changed your DL to reflect that you should be able to get the CCW, which would be good in the whole state, not just the county.

and, while i don't know if it's specifically prohibited, but perhaps you could get a PO box, or rent a room from a friend in one of those counties.

i'm not suggesting that anyone break the law... just investigate ways to work within the law and get the CCW.

That's why I stay in the states I stay in. I get asked every once in a blue moon, "why do you carry a gun everywhere? Are you always afraid of getting robbed or attacked or something?" I just say, "I'm from Memphis. We shoot people." lol

I live in NY, which I'm guessing is similar to the people republic of California.

POB is out. They'll require a physical address. Post Office would require 2 solid forms of ID to open the box anyways, which would be trackable in a background search.

Changing the DL may work, but then you have to come up with 3 good unrelated references within the town your living.

Even if you clear all that, you've still gotta get past the issuing judge, and the sheriff's background checks. My county, they've been known to just stop on over, but also may call landlines. "oh bob isnt here, now can he call you back?" is going to stall your app. Then there's the fact in NYS, the judge can yank it at any time, and if police find you living in a town your DL or permit don't match up to.... it's going to bite you in the ass.

I'm all for carry rights, and hate these laws.... but skirting them isn't worth the risks.
