Pocket Fixed Blade

You guys are giving me the jitters with all those sweet "small" knives. I have a few I will try to post tonight. Goodness knows I own too many now but the pics are NOT helping me!

To the many excellent entries I would add ML Knives' Short Kephart and Nessie Shorty, Bryan Breeden's PSK, and the Compact Bushcrafts (see my avatar), Kathy Breeden's Kat knife, BRKT (pick one), especially the Mini-Northstar, on and on. I have seen a few here I had not considered myself but am thinking about them now. I own a few of those shown and couldn't possibly find a point against any. The selection is tremendous.

Sheath options are a little more limited (though the ones available are very nice) but there are enough artisans on this forum that any one of them could likely make you just what you want or need in either leather or Kydex. This would be a good launch point to spec one out collectively and see what we could come up with.

i have a nice selection of pocket sized fixed blades.... there are a lot of them out there to choose from...:D bark river has a great line of smaller fixed blades..as for sheath options... if it wasn't going to be on my belt and/or pack strap, i would go with kydex...

todd rexford resonnance.. mine is in black micarta, i haven't taken a pic yet..(pic taken by todd)

another vote for the Gossman, PSK, Jr. It's my favorite whittling/woodworking knife. Small knife that still fits big hands like mine!

Not sure if this one was mentioned(sorry didn't read whole thread)

...seems like a nice pocket FB to me

Bark river makes several small FB pocket knives,Mikro canadain,PSK,Slither etc...and can order a sweet pocket pouch to hold a firesteel as well....

With these two one can survive everywhere:

Fehrman's Thru Hiker, 3 inch blade, CPM 3V steel
Chris Reeve's small Sebenza, S30V steel

Enjoy,

Franco

Sweet blades franco. I doubt those will fit the bill for all you need though. Better pack a hatcet or folding saw as well.

Bark River PSK offers a huge range of handle choices, comes with a kydex sheath but there are leather options for pocket carry too.

A Mini Marvel!

While looking at BRKT, check out the Little Creek. Very nice little blade.

Brian, could you take another picture of this knife with something else so that we can get a size reference?
I really like the way it looks.
Thanks
John

Graham Bros spear point carries awesome and is a great knife. Here are some pics of it.

Another vote for the brothers Graham, or the Busse Game Warden... Tom Krein also makes a heckuva nice knife in various smaller sizes & styles. :D:thumbup: The Graham Bros knives came with pocket clip sheaths, but no firesteel loop. Busse doesn't offer sheaths, which would allow you to get a custom one done to your satisfaction without having the extra. The Krein knife shown came with a sheath for wearing on the belt, but maybe Tom or Josh & Jon could make what you want or point you in the right direction...?

No problem, John. Actually, this PSK, Jr. is custom 3/32" wide instead of 1/8", and it is A2 instead of 01.

Here it is between a SAK Rucksack and a Large Tiger Knapp (crap photo):

Mike posted one of the pocket nessmuks. They are good for pocket carry, maybe a bit thicker in the handle than some people like.

I've also done the pocket wharnie:

That's a necker sheath with a stitch on pocket clip holder. I haven't made more because I didn't (Until today, thanks to my bandsaw usage) have what I needed to make better pocket clips and the ones at tandy aren't that great.

that one got carried at a local fair for 2 days by one of my crew members and didn't have a problem, so I think the design is good. Koyote Girl would make it prettier by now :)
