Pocket Fixed Carry

Another one from JK Knives...

* The knife is an EWOK (Everyday Work and Outdoor Knife) made by John Kiedaisch at http://www.jkhandmadeknives.com/aboutme.htm

* The sheath is a magnet imbedded minimalist sheath (it only covers the blade for a smaller profile in the pocket) made by Mike Bartol from Mt. Mikes Leather Shop bartolm@msn.com

3 finger knives are a pet peeve of mine, so I like these by A.G. Russell, and the Fallkniven WM1. Both are fantastic, thin enough to go unnoticed in the pocket, and provide a four finger grip.

have a look at the Fallkniven WM1 in either VG-10 or 3G.

my 3G WM1 is a new and very welcome addition to my day.

the whole design is pretty sheeple friendly and a very capable blade.

I've carried one of these by AG Russell for years and really like it! It's worth a look. Not real big but pretty PC. It's served me well for 10 years or so now.

Those little buggers are great for cleaning rabbit :D
I have one with the hip pocket sheath and it carries great in my front or back pocket. Plus at the price point you could buy 5 or more for the price of most customs. Like a lot of the knives mentioned however, it is 1 inch over your desired OA length. If you can deal with the extra inch, trying to keep cost down, and don't care about winning any beauty contests it ought to serve you well.:thumbup:

I sometimes carry a Bark River micro drop point in a KSF Pocono pocket sheath. It's just over your limit at 5.6 inches, plus a bit for the sheath, though.

CRKT makes a number of small fixed blade knives that are surprisingly decent. I like the Folts Minimalist a lot.

So do any of you rock a small fixed blade at the office? Are there any small pocket sheath options out there, smaller than the KSF Anarondack?

I regularly EDC my Graham Brothers Razel, an interesting knife designed specifically as a fixed blade pocket knife.

The knife is right about 7" end to end (3 1/4" blade), but this is the standard Utility Razel. They also make a Stubby Razel (6" OAL, 2 1/4" blade), and the Wee Razel (4 1/2'' OAL, 1 3/4'' blade). They can be ordered with a leather or kydex sheath designed specifically for in-pocket carry. Blade steel is S30V, 154CM, or CPM 154CM (heat treat by Paul Bos).

If you're looking for a less expensive knife (Graham Brothers do all custom stuff), CRKT offers a few Graham Brothers designed knives, including a Stubby Razel. It has a kydex sheath, also designed for in pocket carry.

I've gotten lots of compliments on my Razel, and with pocket sheath makes it fairly unobtrusive for a fixed blade. Additionally, the unique design of the razel seems to be more office friendly. I think the lack of normal "point" on it makes it look more utilitarian, and gives the impression that it's 100% tool, and not a weapon.

I just picked up a Boker/Krein Pocket Bowie that has turned out to be a really cool little knife. It comes with a kydex sheath that can be paired up with the tek-lok for vertical carry. G-10 handles, 440C, Blade length: 2 1/2". Overall length: 5 3/4" ,Weight: 2.2 oz. (A link below to a thread with pics on Pocket Bowie.)

I like that. I may have to order one.

I've been EDC'ing my Izula in my right front pocket ever since the things first came out.

Bark River OMF knife for me--it's a great EDC, wicked sharp, pointy, A2, but slim and about 5.5" long. Plus you can baton it in a pinch--.150 thick :-) Very friendly for work and non-knife people. Look at the Little Creek, Micro Tusk, Micro-Canadians, etc.

I rock the izula in my pocket from time to time, i prefer a folder so i can get a larger blade but the izula does a great job.

Have you thought about neck carry with ball chain instead of paracord? I actually find it more comfortable, it doesn't get all grimy from sweat and stuff and I've only had one person question it, wondering if it was a LEO badge. I think most people assume it's military dog tags or don't even notice.
Not as exciting as a new knife but thought I'd mention it.
