I have some pocket knife questions for the Female members of the Forum.

Do you carry a pocket knife? And what kind of pocket knife do you carry?

I can answer for my wife who does not have an account here. She likes the Spyderco Dragonfly and also carries a SOG Aegis Mini when she runs and bikes. Edit to add; my 11 year old daughter carries a pink Kabar folder on the weekends when we go Geocaching and other outdoors stuff.

I bought my wife a Leek, an Avispa, and a Dragonfly, as well as a buck metro and sak classic, she prefers the leek in her purse and Metro on her keychain.
(Though the avispa she prefers for camping/hiking)

My wife has a couple of Benchmades with 3" blades, but she never carries anymore. She spotted my orange Dragonfly and took that, and then a purple one followed. She will only carry Spyderco brand and prefers the Dragonfly 2.

Work EDC: Benchmade Auto Presidio

Off Work EDC: Southern Grind Spider Monkey or Benchmade Ritter Mini Grip with custom micarta scales

Kayak/Beach/Boat: Spyderco Salt I

My wife carries a Spyderco Delica and Cold Steel Recon 1 large.

Spyderco Manix 2 lightweight and ESEE 3 for camping

I am a woman, and I have carried a knife since I was 7 years old. I prefer frame lock knives. I have a little selection that I choose to carry; a Strider SnG (one of my favorites.), a Strider SnG CC Dog Paws, a Dervish NavEDC, a Seamus Knives Cracked Uber, a CRK Inkosi, and 2 Emerson's. I have a couple other knives, but I tend to carry these. I always have at least 2 knives on me, usually 3.

You'll find women's knife carry varies just as much as men's, so I'm curious why the specification of gender in your questions? Gender has no bearing at all on knives

These days been carrying XM-18 3.5" bowie or original stainless Spyderco Police model, or both depending on what the day holds.

ZT560 used to be my EDC for the size and sheer toughness but now I rotate between these. Been carrying since 15/16 yrs old

Generally females pants have much smaller pockets than men's which can limit what is carried comfortably in the pocket.

Couldn't agree more on this! I always say, there's no "special" knives for women...those of us that are interested and carry look at the knives the same way as the guys do. I find that majority of my male friends are right on par with my preferences.

We're not interested in pink cutesy things that can't actually be used in any practical situation. Same with guns. Actually had a gun store guy offer me a pink Glock once. Felt like shooting him with it, lol just politely declined in favor of plain good 'ol black.

I do. Over the years I've carried a Benchmade Mini Grip, an Ontario Rat II, Victorinox SAKs of different sizes/configurations, a Cold Steel Hold Out III, Kershaw Shuffle, stuff like that. Mostly folders in the 2-3" blade range, as well as smaller fixed blades and the odd traditional slipjoint.

Lately, I've been carrying a Spyderco Ladybug on a cord around my neck, along with a Cold Steel Broken Skull (not on a cord around my neck, obviously :) ), as well as an LT Wright Frontier Valley, Becker BK14, Gerber Dime--some combination of those, and generally no fewer than two knives on me at any given time.

Which is why I've had to switch to carrying whatever folder I carry either in my back pocket, clipped to the outside of a front pocket or in my bag.
I found that my Mini Grip, which fit just fine for several years in a front pocket, was sticking up out of the pockets of my jeans and not clipping securely. Same with the Rat and Hold Out.

Some do, but women don't wear all the same type of pants either. Army uniform pants, for example, have same size pockets regardless of gender. In addition some women carry purses, wear coats, clip their knives inside their waistband, etc. There is just as much variety and tastes in knives for women as there are for men. Chromosomal makeup has zero to do with knife purchases.
