Pocket Sheaths or Belt Sheaths

Got this wonderful sheath in the mail from Al today. I was totally satisfied with my purchase ! Top tier quality - thank you Al. I plan to put it to use.

Alongside a very nice slip that Barry made for me and which has seen plenty of use:

I have a nice KSF pocket sheath for my Case Back Pocket knife. Really nice product. I don't carry that knife very often, but when I do I carry it in that sheath - helps keep it upright which I prefer for a bigger knife like that.

I've been thinking about getting a belt sheath for my Case Trappers and/or Large Stockman. Those are weekend carry knives so a belt holster would work out just fine for those bigger knives. During the work week I go with small and slim, in my pocket, no sheath.

Though my Dockers slacks have a little inside coin pocket that the bottom of the right front that is just perfect as a little built-in knife pouch, so that's where whatever I am carrying (almost always a Vic Cadet or Bantam) rides.

It's very hard to find a good traditional folder sheath, think there are some guys here on the forum that will make one for you, or I have had good luck with DM Bullard, American made outside Dallas, will do,custom but their stock stuff fits a few different knives except my some of my GEC have a high brow past the scales, so are a little too wide, case knives usually fit, the one that have for the mini trapper fits my mini trapper, a GEC calf roper, as well as a medium stockman, otherwise think AG Russell makes some, but googled it endlessly very few options otherwise unless go custom

Here are some Bullard sheaths and one my dad made for my Sodbuster

Actually the smaller one matches my belt and boots wear the the office daily but hey it's texas so you can wear a nice leather belt knife sheath with cowboy boots and that's normal

Up north they may give you dirt looks :)

Gorgeous sheath!!! Fantastic picture too!!

I was just perusing this thread and got to thinking where is that sheath I made for my Puma? I thought to myself ...surely I did not leave a knife stored in it:eek: I did...:eek: Oh the horror! Well, I found it in time but thought I would post this reminder to others....don't store knives in sheaths;)

I have performed the requisite self flagellation to atone for my sin

Great reminder Gevo and thanks for the comments on the sheath. Al did a great job.

This AG Russell is the best quality belt sheath I've ever owned...

And the only pocket slip I have is a GEC for my #85...

I'll use a belt sheath more often than a slip sheath, but it depends on the knife. Usually its for a larger knife, but I've been known to make them for even a Peanut :) which worked out well but sure was small ;) working on a larger vertical sheath for my new Case Purple Haze Stockman, THAT is a sizeable folder!!!

and one just finished for my big Case Stockman the Purple Haze model, a hefty knife that does benefit from belt carry;

I made this drop pouch for my father-in-law while camping in the Adirondacks. It was a fun afternoon project.

I just got a new #15 and threw a GEC sheath in the order too must admit kinda lame sheath in comparison to the KSF pocket sheath [emoji16]

Was the KSF sheath free also?

I'm trying to get KSF (Derrick) to make a double sheath. Id love to be able to carry a medium and small slippie or a medium and a AAA flashlight. Plus it allows for the sheath to not turn or flip over sideways in you pocket.

I like the pocket sheaths (leather slip sheaths) sold by KSF. I use them for my GEC #42. Pretty much purchased my first pocket sheath for a #23, but decided that it is probably more suited to a belt pouch. These sheaths protect the knife from being scratched up or damaged by other pocket items like coins and keys and also the knife stays put better.

You mean, something like KSF's Pocono, but with the larger pocket shaped more universally (instead of angled for a fixed blade)?

I could see it (and would use it). :)
