Bud ,
My story is not different, not sure what part you think is? I will include my original message so you can clarify that for me?
ALSO JUST AN FYI, I DID NOT BUY SAID SHEATH FROM THIS FORUM, IT WAS ANOTHER. So what you see here is a thread started after we emailed.
I want to be 100% clear and transparent. I personally feel I have not publicly bad mouthed you. I am just posting an experience I am having and wanting to get some help and feedback from the members here.
Do I not have the right to express my frustrations? I feel like im doing it in a manner that is not directly bad mouthing you. My apologies if you think that but at the end of the day, Im still frustrated with the sheath. All im trying to do is salvage what I have.
Here is a copy of my email I sent to you.
Hello,
I just recently picked up one of your sheaths on a knife forum from a member. The sheath is in mint condition and looks new. However there is a pretty bad issue with the stitching around the clip (sheath is for a Fiddleback Hiking Buddy). Part of the stitching near the top of the clip is missing & the whole top left portion is loose and exposing a gap.
I wanted to reach out to you to see if you could help me with this? I was hesitant to reach out as I am not the original buyer, but after several members said the sheath looks unused and to reach out directly to you, I decided to do just that. I have actually about x2 months ago, bought a Fiddleback Runt direct from your web store, not sure if you remember me?
At any rate, I will try and add pictures below of said sheath for you to see. If I can't link them, do you have an email I can send the pictures directly?
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Sunny

Sunny,
I cannot see the pictures. They have to uploaded as attachments in an email, but from your description it sounds like the previous owner clipped the stitching with the blade when inserting it into the sheath - cutting the stitches. Because I saddle stitch, it won't unravel .. but it will be loose where those couple stitches were cut.
In short ..not a warranty of workmanship and it's not a quick fix. It will require the entire sheath to be sliced open, the overlay stitching removed, restitched - then the sheath will need to be re-glued, re-stitched, and the edges re-sanded, dyed, burnished, and waxed .. not a quick fix.
$40 plus shipping to repair it. If that's the route you want to take, then let me know and I'll send my shipping address.
It will after Blade Show before I can get to it.

Hi Bud,
I have no idea how it happened, but if you say it was clipped, then maybe it was?
I will just try my luck with some glue. Thanks.
*** AND YOUR REPLY AGAIN:
I can see the pics now.
Just what I thought, cut from the inside by clipping it with the tip of the blade. Operator error. You can tell by the cut location on the thread .. cut inside the throat of the sheath. Outside welt edge would suggest he (or she) stuck the knife in the sheath at an extreme angle.
