Pocket Slips?!

Make sure they are made from vegetable tanned leather and not chrome tanned. The latter can cause corrosion. KSF slips are really nice. (removed non BF dealer member reference and link)

Heck - I like them so good, I just might stop collecting pocket knives and start collecting pocket slips! :D:D:D

I would suggest contacting Redbeardo, he's a leather worker on this site. He makes a dual pocket sheath that I have a number of. I carry a knife and flash light in it and I always have one one me. It goes in my left back pocket and rides just like a wallet that's in the opposite pocket.

I use a very simple pocket slip. It keeps my knife from getting all beat up from my keys. I like these simple pocket slips a lot! I have even used them after removing the pocket clips from my modern knives.

I have a nice Boker Barlow like Primble but no pocket slip. :o

Thanks for a great idea Arizona, I will cut some gloves up and make a nice pocket slip. :)

Don't act so pitiful Mark!!

I have a pocket slip, well slips, but, I don't have a T.A. Davison custom knife like Mark Sharp. :o

Pitiful?!  :barf: :foot:

I am just a poor guy who loves Traditional folding knives. :)

I wish I had your money so I could have my knives professionally photographed like you do.  :barf: :D :D :D

I carry mine loose in the pocket. They don't bother me next to my wallet, so there is no point in using a knife purse. I don't mind a little wear and tear, I don't like the added bulk, and don't want to deal with the extra steps of putting a knife in and taking it out of the leather.

YMMV of course.

Same here, I use my knives too frequently during the day for a slip to be practical. I do plan on picking up a vertical belt sheath, or modifying my horizontal sheath, for my Case Folding Hunter, as it can be a pain to carry in some pant pockets.

Ronal G. Ryder of Backroom Leather makes lovely different sized slips in different colors plus back pocket slips and Buckeroos

I do not carry knives in my pocket, they all go in belt pouches
I have all different types from lovely leather, less expensive leather, fancy nylon to very simple nylon.

The very simple nylon belt pouches are about $1 for small, and $2 for medium
They sit flat and have very little bulk and make excellent pocket sheaths
A good inexpensive alternative to expensive leather pocket slips

I've only just discovered the pocket slip .
For years I shook my head in wonder at why anyone would use them and the few times I ventured to try them I quickly got annoyed at the extra time they demand in outing your knife .
But for some reason , maybe because as I get older I'm slowing down or something , the ritual of retrieving my knife from its pocket slip is no longer a hardship .
A recent SAK I got from a member here came with a slip he made and it was an eye opener to me just how good and useful pockets slips really are .
For me they are for your special knife that you carry as an extra for those special jobs or situations .
My main knife rides on my belt in a sheath , but the extra one now rides in a slip .

Here is the slip and SAK thanks G2  this is a keeper , but the slip is already giving away the fact that for a lot of my day I have dirty hands , and is already showing the patina of my daily world .

Here is a slip for a knife I inherited from my father that I made recently

Try back pocket carry or watch pocket carry. Get a Rough Rider and drop it in your back pocket and try to hurt it. Might surprise you.
