Well, not exactly ... although it's more fun to speculate on the horrors of a giant carnivore's approach, this one wasn't so bad: Photographs show an encounter between a polar bear and some sled dogs.
Great pictures. I would have been on the other side of the moon right after I saw a bear like that show up.
He did look like he was having fun, though, and the incident points up that carnivores kill to eat, not from viciousness.
How many times have we read about bear attacks? How many times have we read about bears quietly moving on and not bothering hikers or hunters, with the people blissfully unaware of their presence?
