Police 4

Depending on how the ergos work for me this could be the folder that ruins all other folders for me. This looks like MY knife. I am a little broke right now but my birthday is coming up soon. Can we PLEASE get this bad boy before mid May!!! ;)

Looks like a back lock, reversible pocket clip version of the Military.

Pretty much, especially the blade. Except, as crazy as it sounds, that it will probably ride even slimmer in the pocket than the Military does and it has a half inch more blade.

Police 4 - longer blade; thinner blade stock; Japan made.

Otherwise, same weight, G10, sharp pointy thingy and a handle.

Can someone illuminate us, what was the original thought behind the Police concept. I had vaguely remembered reading that it was meant for someone who could use it as a last ditch SD weapon but for someone who wasn't trained to knife fight. Or do I have it wrong?

So was it a backlock or a power lock?

I like the idea of a tough steel folder. Perhaps it can even withstand a little dreaded tip prying.

I don't believe it has the Power-lock, but the new Chinook does.

I believe you are thinking of the Civilian.

I've been carrying the proto, but not in the city....it's a large knife and is illegal in Denver.

The maker was waiting longer than expected on steel so last I heard was late summer.

Great looking knife. The day this has a run with CTS204p or any other steel a bit more stainless than K390 i'll grab 2 :)

Thanks for the update, Sal. I haven't been this excited about a knife in awhile. It'll be worth the wait.

Thank god it isn't coming out tomorrow. Now I can actually save up for a knife for once rather than going with the spend now worry later model of purchase.

Thanks for the info. That's awesome!

Glad I picked up a Military last month to tie me over. I am really liking the larger folder form factor. Replaced my fixed blade on my last weekend camping trip - food prep; little wood whittling; fishing (not catching).

I can see the Police becoming my dedicated hiking knife... maybe a show-and-tell day at the office...

Looking forward to this one.

One of my most anticipated knives. So far, I really like K390. I have the ULW. Pretty good stuff. So, in a large folder like the P4 the steel should really show its worth.

I'm really digging this one. Big ass knife in a steel that I have no experience with. Color me intrigued!
