Thats what happens when you use a flimsy folder instead of a smatchet...
On a serious note. What a bummer. I am so sorry for that knife. Although some vegetables are tough as nails, I would have never imagined this could happen.
As others said, the Police is a slicer, probably not suited for side to side stress. Did you wiggle it up/down or side to side?

It was a side to side motion, I guess I found the sweet spot. There's not a lot of metal where it broke with the large Spydie hole there. The weird thing was it didn't flex/give much before it broke + it wasn't a smooth break, it broke at an angle.

Have you got a hold of Spyderco and Sal? They might want to take a look at that thing to make sure there isn’t more to it.

I agree with Murphjd25. Contact Spyderco and let them know what happened. They might want to look at the knife to see if there was a defect. Who knows? You might have got a fluke with a bad heat treat. I'd give them a call.

I think it would be a good idea to send it in. From the picture, it looks like the proper "hinges" are there so it is not likely heat treat, but there is nothing like getting it in our hands.
