I ordered a Socom DA plain edge clip point and after numerous emails over a period of 2 weeks, Mario replied every four days or so that he was looking into the status of my shipment.
Well, the package finally arrives a week or so after I finally cancelled the order. What was inside? A damaged mini socom. And now he is insisting on charging me a 25% restocking fee for returning the mini.
Do not order from this shady company.

Erikfsn: You didn't say how you paid for the knife, but if I were you, I WOULD NOT PAY restocking fee!!! If he sent you the wrong knife, HE should absorb any loss NOT YOU! If you can prove he sent you the wrong knife (ie: copy of order form etc.) he doesn't have a chance. You don't state what state you are in, but I bet you have something like California's Small Claims Court. Take him there and kick his a$$!!!

I had the same BS with them. I paid for a in stock knife. It never came so I found the factory. The knife had never been made. After I found out it was all bull s--t I ask for my money. It took a month or more to get it. Very shady deal. The story was the jobber had the money and would not send it back. I think the man is even a LEO. If that's true I bet his chief would be very unhappy and if he is not call the Mayor and mention the word PRESS. I see they have auctions all over. There was also somw story about the place had been sold and the new owner just did not know anything. Man glad you got your cash back. There sure seems to be a D-M infection of not doing right lately in the knife world.

Who is/are this/these guy/guys?

Ran a 1blink search, didn't find them on the web. Were they located thru some LE magazine or something?

Just curious. Have extremely strong reaction to lying thieves, always whets my curiosity.

Mario (Police Outfitters) was running an auction on http://www.forthehunt.com and I paid with a credit card. The same day I gave him the number he charged my account. It took about a month for me to get the wrong knife. I kept emailing him every five days or so and it always took him about four days to respond with vague notes about how he would look into it.
I have disputed the charge with my credit card company, have had to fill out paperwork for the dispute, and changed my cc# because I don't want the son-of-a-bitch to have my number.

Thanks, Eric. Just spent a little time over there. What a strange auction. On average, fewer than 1 bid per 10 listings on knives whose auctions will be concluded today or tomorrow. Must be kind of like f#&ting upwind to list there. Actually found a couple books that are good deals IMO. May have to join and go back. Didn't open any listings by Mario or Police Outfitters. Will spend some time there occasionally and see if I can locate him.

Do you know if this Mario ever had a presence here? Or on Knife Forums?

Bugs, don't know if he's ever around blade or knife forums. If you do a search on forthehunt for microtech you'll probably find a few of his auctions.

I tried to post some feedback there to warn people about him, but in order to do so you have to have the item number of the transaction which I don't have. Strange thing is he has a lot of good feedback there. Maybe they're his buddies?
