polished spine pics

Does anybody else have an FFBM with the rounded spine or have I started to mangle a rare variant of the model?

Neither of my FFBMs has a rounded spine, and I have never seen one that did. Until this thread.

I think my Modded SS is about ready for a strip job and a polished spine. I did the modds after being inspired by the one SoupMonger posted on here. I was going to send it to Ban for a mod (he is a Mod king after all). But decided to just bite the bullet and do it my self. After all, the SS is a bit of an ugly duckling anyway, and mine was a dedicated user. So I went for it.
The finish is wearing off nicely, and there are a bunch of nicks and chips in the spine finish from banging it on everything when I carry it. Maybe that will have to be a new years project.
Also, on a side note, SoupMonger's sheath he made for the Modded SS he sold a while ago was the bomb. I really wish I had been able to get the sheath on that one for my self.

Alright, heard from the Janitor on this one today.
There was a batch of FFBMs that went to the BCS with rounded spines.
Woo-Hoo! Back to work then!
I'm polishing the bevels to make them really stand out from the darker flats. I started with WD-40 and Scotchbrite (as seen above) and today tried using RemOil in place of the WD-40 and have come up with a really cool frosted glass type of finish.
Mike Irie turned me on to the WD-40/Scotchbrite pewter finish a long time ago because it looked good and was super easy to clean up so I'll see how this RemOil/Scotchbrite holds up as a possible evolution of his idea.
I'll see if I can't get a picture of the bevels in the morning.
