Poll: Favorite Benchmade Folder

AFCK in first place due to about four years of daily carry without a problem of any kind.

Second is the McHenry & Williams Axis. Newer knife with o real track record yet, but it is slick!

Stryker and AFCK in the lead.

Stryker owners:

Does the knife suffer from a lack of "belly?"

The Model 45, of course.

Failing that, it's just gotta be the AFCK.

My favorite Benchmade is:

1 Mini AFCK M2 Smooth edge
2 Mini Afck ATS-34 Combo edge
3 720 Axis smooth edge
4 710 Axis smooth edge
5 Stryker Chisel Grind
6 Mini Stryker smooth edge
7 Sentinel Black/Blue smooth edge

Favorite utility Bencmade: 710BT AXIS due to its great utility blade, sharp point and a trustworthy lock. (Wish it had more belly then it would be also my favorite tactical folder).

Favorite tactical Benchmade: Pinnacle, due to a great thick blade with lots of belly and a failsafe monolock. The integral finger notch combined with the friction grooves in the handle and atop the blade make it slip proof on hard thrusts. The large thumb stud is hard to miss in an emergency. I wish it were closer to 4" and the sharp corners were rounded however.

The AFCK is my favorite folder from any company - far from perfect, but better than the rest.

Sorry to digress, but... What the #%$@ do you people see in the Stryker??? It's comfy to hold but that blade shape is clearly about looks, not use. Plus the tang nips your thumb when you close it, and on early models the disc is way out out of place and the liner has that stupid protrusion to catch it when closed. It's pretty, it's ergonomic, makes a nice "armchair warrior" knife - but come on, what has it got over a Delica when it comes to using it? Can't believe it got mentioned in the "best production folder" thread...

AFCK, now if they only put one of those axis locks on it.

The 705BT, followed by the 700 and then the AFCK. Now, if they'd put an Axis Lock module on a M2 AFCK in left handed, that'd take the cake.

Re: the Stryker,

There is a sub-species of knife nut who simply love chisel-point blades, and the more you try to help them, the more they will tell you that you really can field dress a deer with a Benchmade 970 because they do it all the time.

At least with the Styker, the angle of the secondary edge is shallow, so it works well for gross cutting movements.

The things I like about the Stryker are the handle ergonomics - simply the best, the compactness - the blade to handle ratio is excellent and it seems like a lot of knife for its size, and the blade strength - the tip grind is nice and thick. Plus, it's available in M-2.

Now if Benchmade would only make a curved edge version, same profile, just a curved edge instead of a geometric edge. Oh, and with the Axis lock too.

Definitely the 710 Axis (plain edge). Time will tell about the durability of the locking mechanism but it looks promising.

Thanks, Harv, very diplomatically put. If I had to choose a tanto folder, the Stryker would probably top the list - very steep secondary edge, almost like a belly

But am I the only one who gets bitten when closing it? The tang is too close to the cutout, when I close the knife it nips my thumb every dang time.
