I voted for a Toothpick, as I always wanted to pick one up, and this would be the perfect excuse. I hope its not going to be a Barlow, because the only one I have is the post 2004 pos Schrade Barlow. It would be a punishment for me if I had to carry it for a month, and I cant seem to find any suitable Barlows for me out there atm. I`d love a vintage Schrade Barlow 280OT, as I like the design, but the post 2004 execution is just horrible.
 
Voted for a Jack. My fathers day gift (GEC #5X big jack) is still in it's tube and needs a reason to come out. Trapper is a close second.
 
oh and why's it always a different frame model? How about doing a handle material instead of a model?

Reading through the replies, sounds like barlow is taking charge, which is a shame for me as my only barlow is away being rescaled into a shadow style in marigold bone, and it won't be back until mid August.

The canoe is tempting because I have often thought about picking one up, but I really don't need to be buying anything now. What I really want to vote for is the pen knife, but looking at the poll that seems to be about as useful as voting for Ron Paul in November. My only trapper is a Case slimline, which has a nice profile, but at over 4" long there is no way I could pocket it daily.

Oh well, throw it away! Since I already registered my desire for it in the stockman thread, I'm voting for the pen knife.

Let a majority of "other knife guys ( or gals, I guess) choose a pattern for the month
All the decision making pressure is tranferred to the group, at large

BTW - I hit the serpentine jack button, but it looks like a long shot

My son went camping with his scout pack to the Budawang Range southern NSW a couple of weeks ago. There were pictures of them holding sheets of ice from puddles on the trail.3 nights out not bad going for 11 yo
 
We had our Scout Troop out camping this past weekend in Ricketts Glen State (Pennsylvania) Park, with a hike around the waterfall trail. Perfect weekend!

Is Ricketts Glen (semi)local to you, or was it a commute? I haven't hiked there in years, but remember it as beautiful.

I woted trapper, i have 4 of them. I Carry the 3,5 mini cv case often but seldom the full size ones. If this gets the knife of the mounth i will carry the case 54 sunnyd giftes me 3 years ago.

Sure is, about an hour from home give or take a few. There are so many beautiful areas around here, we could go to different parks a couple times a year and still not have every Scout see everyone.

As for the poll, if it is to be a Barlow, that gives me a reason to pick up a GEC 2 blade #25 :D
 
I think I'm just gunna make a separate thread about deciding how to break down all of the patterns for next month.

I'm pretty new here, so please excuse me if I'm being presumptive, but it might be cool to end each poll with a couple weeks to spare until the next month. That way, if it's a pattern people don't already have, they have time to pick one up if they want to.

This is a good idea, however there isn't an established group of people to decide when to post a poll, etc. I guess I could step up to the plate, I'll make sure to post it two weeks ahead of the next month to allow for votes and shipping time.
 
I'll throw in a vote for the pen knife, mostly because I have one on it's way to me and it will be an EDC as soon as the month begins. ;)

Thus far the Barlow is winning, and that's one pattern I don't own. Oh well, perhaps I'll have better luck next month.
 
My choices are not listed. I would like to see a full size stockman (3-7/8"), or whittler.

The stockman was this month's traditional of the month, so you still have another two days if you'd like to participate in that. As to the Whittler, yes I know I didn't add it as it had slipped my mind, along with quite a number of other patterns. As it stands, as I have posted earlier, variations that are not listed should be assumed under the name of "Generic Jack/Pen" So please post your vote as you see fit.
