The lightest I carry is probably just under 3 oz and the heaviest is just under 6 oz. Pretty good spread in between.

My EDC rotation includes everything from an SAK Classic to a Cold Steel 4Max Scout. I don't notice the weight of my knives, but I do notice my EDC pistol. I AIWB a S&W 40cal. 14+1 is about 35 ounces.

What a question...
Like asking me for the diameters of my toes and which one's my favorite.lol.
I don't know or care! I'm not picking one either! That's for sure!lol

I usually have at least 4-5 knives on me. If I get in a mood and start thinking too much and just can't pick, it's not unusual for me to have a dozen or so different blades on me. Not even counting multitools. My nickname given to me by my wife is "Lumpy".lol

I carry anything from an old USA Schrade 18ot MightyMite or Spyderco Ladybug up to a Cold Steel Original 4Max or Rajah II, and all sorts in between. Of course all variety of fixed blades as well.

Weight has never been a major factor. To be fair, I've never really understood the whole ultra lightweight movement. In guns either. I edc a Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in 44 mag and never even notice the weight unless I take it off.

Nothing against the minimalist and lightweighters. Just never been my "thing".

My standard EDC is a benchmade 940 which feels almost weightless at just under 3oz. If I'm planning on doing more outdoor stuff (camping/hiking/hunting) I'll have a larger fixed blade that is probably 10+oz.

Honestly weight is meaningless to me... Doesn't factor in at all....Maybe its because I carried a Buck 110 for most of my teens in the 80's.
Same here. And loose in the pocket. I have recently been made aware that it’s a belt sheath knife only, and it’s impossible to carry in your pocket. By a bunch of leg day skipping weenies.

My current most carried folder is a BM Adamas. 7.7 ounces of impossible to carry, pull-your-pants-down fury.

You seriously EDC a 44mag and 5 knives?

3.59 oz / 101.8g in waist band or
2.90 oz / 82.9g in watch pocket
biggest problem (?) is reaching to correct location, and closing knife after use. One is button lock, one is liner lock. Muscle memory gets forgetful.

I voted from 4oz all the way to 7. This year I think my most carried were:
1. ZT 0909 - 7oz?
2. Regular PM2 - 4oz?
3. ZT 0566 - 5oz?
The 0909 is on the heavy side for me, it’s like 7oz I think, but I would rather that, than a knife that’s under say 4oz and doesn’t feel too sturdy.
For me, the Sweet spot is in the middle, like an Eklipse or a 0393, around 5-5.5oz

The knives I'll carry vary in weight from a little over 1 oz (Bastinelli Pika) to around 7-8 oz.

I'm not going to weigh them all to figure out which is the heaviest but I'm currently carrying a Spyderco Gen 2 Police which weighs exactly 5.71 oz which I don't even notice in my pocket.

Thanks for all your responses, everyone! The poll is shaping up to a very tidy normal distribution, centered around 3-4 oz. Which is a little lighter than what I expected, but not by much. Bless the people who don't care how much they are carrying; I'm not one of them. I dislike the extra bulk, which tends to bump into things, dirty and shred your pants.

I wish all a happy Christmas eve, and good times with your loved one. Peace.

Lol. Yeah. Usually more than that. Lately it's been the Alaskan and 2 3rd gen G27s, two speed strips and two extra mags. I do change ammo and guns according to activities of course. I keep the 44 loaded with some 200 gr Gold Dots loaded around 1,000 fps from Underwood during the warmer months and for church service etc. Carry extra ammo options, some heavy hard cast 340 gr wadcutters and some shot cartridges when out hiking and camping. Right now due to extreme cold, multiple layers of clothing and heavy coats, loaded with some 180 gr xtp jhp hot magnums from Underwood. Of course you lose some velocity from the shorter barrel with the Alaskan, but they'll still chrono about 1,450 fps. I think that'll do.lol.

I'm sure I could probably get by with just one or two knives 90+% or the time, but I don't want to. I like having different options for different uses. I usually have at least one heavy one handed folder, one smaller one handed folder, a slipjoint, a sak and a multi tool. Plus a fixed blade and whatever else I get an urge to add.

No, I don't use it all every day. I pray often that I never use the guns outside of the range. But I like to be ready. It's amazing how handy the different knives and tools are if you have them.

Umnumzaan is the heaviest knife I’ll carry regularly and it’s right at 5oz. Otherwise I strongly prefer knives in the 2-3oz range.

Protech Brend 1. 5.7 ounces. A little heavy but it does just about everything well. Plain Jane black with a rebel flag logo. Probably 8 plus years.
