That’s a good point. Bulk can be more noticeable than weight.I am way more concerned with the thickness of a knife in the pocket rather than the weight. Most days, I IWB a Glock 17, so the difference between a 2oz and 7oz knife isn't going to be noticed.
However, a knife that is thick enough that I can't get my hand down into my pocket past it bothers me a bit and can sometimes be harder to draw.
I will say that super light knives freak me out a bit if that's all I am carrying. My wife got me a Kizer titanium Begleiter for Christmas. Just a tad over 3.5" in blade and clocks in at 2.9oz. I constantly find myself nervously patting my front pocket feeling like I may have lost it since it is so light and so thin. Kinda digging it, really.
