How many knives owned result in peak happiness? For me it's not numbers-based, more about only owning knives that I really like and letting the others go.

Earlier this year I created 3 piles on the floor and put all my knives in one of them.

Pile 1: Never ever sell, absolute favorites
Pile 2: Worth keeping
Pile 3: No longer love

Subsequently I sold everything in Pile 3 that had value worth the postage and about half of Pile 2. I used the funds to increase the size of Pile 1. I ended the year with more knives that I started with, but with a much stronger collection and more peace of mind. Hopefully the ones I sold fit in someone else's Pile #1.

Five. 55, 110, 112 LW, 118 pro, 661. I wish I still had my 119 and 302 that I gave away. And the prince, cadet, 301 and my original 110 that mysteriously disappeared during a divorce. I'd bet good money they could be found at her boys houses.

I mentally counted to 51 and checked 50-100. I'm sure its closer to 50 than 100. As for those concerned about people knowing how much you drink..

I don't drink much anymore but when I was in college at UW-Madison - wow. The drinking age was 18 back then. Did you ever see those maps of alcohol consumption per capita by state? Wisconsin is on a different level. So proud to be #1 in something. Edit: Dang, I just checked. Wisconsin isn't #1 anymore. (Except for brandy).

I went to college at Michigan Tech in the U.P. The Winters were long and cold ☃️

I currently have 2. Probably owned another 10 or so over the last 5 years, and i can think of 5 or 6 others i'd like to own at some point. Ive wanted a Marksman for about 5 years and have yet to buy one lol.

At one time...I had a superb rare odd one of one 112 collection. But health issues ended displaying and that was it. But it was the thrill of the Hunt that drove me for decades! I find some solice in the fact that many of my 112's are in the finest Buck collections now. If the kids or even the grandkids had any interest I would have passed them on to them I still have close to a hundred including a few great raritys but now I'm looking just to acquire some of the very Cool models I passed on when I was TOTALLY focused on 112's..

I would have to do an inventory to get an accurate count but I’m at around 76 Bucks. In all counting other brands I have about 125 knives total including kitchen knives. I know I have some stashed in my vehicle and shop and in my basement craft room so it will be more. I also have about a dozen different multi tools that have a blades so there’s that. And my camping gear box in the back of my pickup.

Gosh ! You’ve opened up a whole can of worms and got me wondering just how many i do have. 😮 Ive been accumulating knives since I was a kid so it’s kinda hard to keep track. I I rarely get rid of them and I’ve given a lot away over the years as gifts and all.

I sold a bunch of knives the past couple of years, leaving me with 14 Bucks. I started thinking about a drop-point 110, recently. I don't know why. I got by just fine when a 317 was my only knife.
Yeah, I've been carrying a knife every day for about 70 years, and I got along just fine with a fixed blade, a Buck 110, and a stockman. I never realised that I needed more until I joined this forum. :)
