I was thinking after I posted my whats your favorite Spydie thread that it would be really interesting to see peoples least favorite. I think this topic would have some spice. This is going to be really difficult for me, but I would have to pick the "Q". I am not saying that it isn't a good knife; it just doesn't float my boat. Anyone else care to say what their least favorite spydie is?

Hmm, this is a lot easier than picking favorites.

The "Q"s are cute, but mostly for presents to give to non-knife people.

The Jot Singh Khalsa looks like it would be very useful. I like the handle shape, general blade geometry, and the choil. The hump is just too much.

The Viele and the Centofante are too much in the other direction; they don't look like Spydies.

I always found the Jess Horn to be awkward. The hole is to far away from the pivot for those if us with girlie man hands.

Other than that, the Q. Very interesting design but not up to regular Spydie quality for actual use.

Sorry if I offended anyone....just my opinion.

I think it would be neat to have a collection of every "Q" ever made, but it'd be more like a beanie-baby collection than a knife collection.

This might shock you but:

The first generation Military - this was PATHETIC and brought disgrace to Spyderco until discontinued (to whom who forgot: The screws rusted, the G10 finish was awful, liners tend to go all the way and stuck the blade in an open position, overall quality was a disaster and to top it all - there was a spelling mistake on the pocket clip writing !!!)

I am glad the 2nd generation proved that Spyderco know how to improve but I'm still very curious to learn about the whole story as it happened behind the scenes...if anyone knows it (Sal ?)

The Michael Walker lightweight. The handle felt really flimsy. I sent it right back to the dealer upon receipt. I am tempted to try the "almite (?)" version by Ironstone. But, there are other models that are higher on the list. So...

The "Q".
Neat lazer cut design, but the blade is worthless.
Left one on the dash of the car in the sun and the handle melted.

The Toad! I would be interested in what the Toad owners think of this knife.

As I've said before, I think the Toad was very aptly named.

I would have to agree on the Michael Walker Lightweight. The handle ergonomics were all off. There was a slight choil, but not big enough on which to put a finger.

lso, the thumb ramp could use some grooves if it is going to be functional.

Hmmm... hope it won't be too rude to give a couple of answers. All "IMO," of course. Maybe I should go add a few to my "favorites," too?

1st-gen Military - awful QC, serious design flaws. Happy to say this has been fixed.

"Q" - Everything but the blade is cheap. I respect it as an exercise in low-cost, light weight, though.

Renegade - ugliest in-house design.

Original Bob T.s - ugliest "collaboration" design.

That still leaves several dozen great models to empty my wallet, though

It's a tie between the Cricket and the Viele. The Cricket blade style and size are all wrong for me. The hole on the Viele is too small, the grip awkward for my hands and for the price I think a better steel could have been used. The Viele is certainly an attactive looking knife but not very functional.

My least favorite is/was my first, an Endura. It somehow hooked itself out of my pocket 4-5 years ago, somewhere in my 4 acre meadow. I still waste time looking for it.

A toss-up among the Q for all the reasons given, the original Endura and Delica for their lousy plastic clips, and the Pro Venator for its kraton insert clip (I hate it).
