I wouldn't worry, I think we had some discussion and it hit a few bumps. Imagine us all sitting in a room and hashing this out, things would get a bit heated at times, and add the fact that we are doing this over the internet, and it was not all that bad. People who care about something and are passionate about it will hurt other people's feelings by accident, and misunderstandings happen. It is how you deal with it that matters. Essav overreacted a bit imo, but he is being a moderator. I think we will be on our way. Keep the poll alive, and keep planning.

Interesting to see "SpyderNation" surging after "Spyderco Syndicate" had the early lead.

A lot of the suggestions have "Spydie" vs. "Spyderco". This doesn't seem descriptive enough to outsiders, they might think we are fans of crawling creatures. Syndicate is good but does it have some negative connotations? I was looking up loose synonyms and came up with words like:
alliance
association
band
bunch
clan
coalition
crew
family
fellowship
fraternity
gang
guild
league
organization
outfit
partnership
society
team
troops
troupe
trust
union

Anybody want to put these together and suggest some more names?

Its ok if other companies can have a club and be guilty of questionable things, but we cant even discuss openly for our own club? We have no control over what everyone wants to say in a thread, there was opposition, such as in every discussion.

I'm quoting myself because I'm cool...Nah seriously though, I was reading through this thread and just wanted to make something clear before it gets misconstrued. For one, I posted it last night at a time when I wasn't exactly in a bubbly mood. Typed real fast, you know...frustration mode. For the record, I have never experienced anything "questionable" coming from other groups and my dealings with them have been entirely positive. What I felt that is needed to be clear is that "guilty of questionable things" is directed from what the argument was about on the other thread that an upset member cited a group as an example of why clubs shouldn't exist here on BF, and if they are supposedly guilty of such things but do have a group, I was upset that, that behavior isn't gonna fly here but we can't even have a discussion about a group of our own for Spyderco. I'm sure no one cares and no one didnt think any of it, but my conscience is clear. woot woot!
