I'm liking number 2, but is there any way to have a hybrid of the two versions? I like #1 because it keeps your finger away from the blade, but on a knife this size, I don't like the choil.

Choils are OK on a big knife, but not this one.

#2 looks great,but I think #1 would pack on the hip very nice...Hell make 'em both! I'm sure they'll go like hogs in blankets on a 2:00 am corner on burbon street!!!!

I actually started out liking #2 more as a blade shape (no Talon hole no choil), but after looking back again many times, I actually voted #1, because the Talon hole provides more finger protection if you have to use the knife hard (from some one who has had the hand slip up on the blade accidentally more times than one with various designs with little or no guard to speak of).

Either one you make will be sweet!

'Lo from London - only saw this thread today, but would it be complete blasphemy to vote for a hybrid #3?

With the grind on #1, the handle on #2, and an extended talon hole combined with a nice choil so you can really choke up on it and do fine, controlled work?

I dont like #1 at all for a bush knife, big talon hole and useless choil are two minuses for it.
