Modern locking folder clipped to LFP.

Traditional slipjoint in leather slip in RFP or watch pocket. Sometimes carry a SAK instead.

Leatherman Surge with two Bit Kit cards and extension in belt sheath. Used to carry a SAK but the main weaknesses of SAKs are pliers, wire cutters, and drivers. Those are exactly the tools I need the most.

I like them all. Jacks, Stockmen, trappers, single blades...I rotate daily, because I’m crazy like that.
Doing farm work, I like to have a leatherman and a big Klein folder on my belt, besides what’s in my pocket. A multitool or sak can save a long walk to the toolbox or truck.

I’m really fond of the Camillus 23 big jack knife with two different size blades.

If I could only have one knife on me, it would probably be a TL29.

I'm surprised the "One Blade and One Tool " hasn't done better....

Let's have some fun with a poll! I set the poll for two possible selections (I didn't know how to handle the secondary carry option).

For your traditional knife, do you prefer a single blade? Two blades? Three or more blades? Blade(s) and tool? Secondary knife? Multiple tools/blades, Etc.?

Certainly different variations of knives have their uses - and I love them all (and own all of them). Personally, I've been liking the 2016 BF knife with the main blade and awl along with a secondary small knife. If I had to choose between a smaller pen blade and tool such as an awl or bottler opener, I would go with the tool. I would also prefer a knife with a larger and smaller blade compared to two similar sized blades, but understand the benefits of both. As far as Stockmans or SAKs/Camping/Scout knives, they start getting a little thick for me. Then again, I have an SAK in my desk at the ready because of it's versatility.

What are your thoughts?

I typically will carry a traditional knife with two or more blades. The reasoning is I can keep one sharp and use the other one and if i ever need a super sharp knife i got it. Also because i own more traditionals with two or more blades than just single bladed knives.

I consistently carry a SAK in a belt pouch and a small two blade knife in my pocket. Single blade/tool traditional folders do nothing for me so I no longer own any.

I always carry a Sheffield sleeveboard pen in back pocket, and rotate a larger knife (Scout, Barlow, Lambfoot) in front pocket. The pen knife is for discreet use, the larger knife is to do real work.

I always carry my Boker 494. With the sheep's foot blade and secondary pen blame, one is for utility tasks and the other razor sharp thin edge for trimming fingernails, extracting splinters, etc.

I also carry a Leatherman about 95 percent of the time. Building maintenance for work and homesteading when I am not being paid to work always ensures there is plenty to do. The pliers and screwdrivers on the Leatherman are indispensable. These blades are for the dirty work. Scraping, deburrING and lending. It rides in a pancake style belt sheath about 4 o'clock.

Sometimes I will throw a peanut or some small fixed blade or even a modern just for the fun of knives. I try to leave my Boker at home but can't seem to bring myself to do so.

Definite preference for small secondary here... I like the reassurance of knowing I have a second blade if necessary, and the knowledge that it can do something the big one can't (as easily.)

As to how I like the two set in the frame though, my mind changes every week.

Almost everyday of the work week it's a SAK but once I get home or on the weekends it's an Old Timer 340T. I use the SAK at work to do things and touch stuff that I really don't want to do with my other knives so it is only carried for work, then promptly set aside when I get home.
If I'm hunting or just in the woods I do have a few belt knives that will go along, one being an old Western my Grandad carried in WW II.

I haven’t read yet, but wanted to be clear-I carry several traditionals daily, both with a blade and awl, one a hoofpick. Plus others.
Thanks, Neal
Ok read it , loved it. I forgot to mention I’m also carrying the Congress I got from you Vaporstang Vaporstang ! Not getting the love it should, may need to rotate. Very handy with picnic benches and my son’s name, as he noticed. I also carry a Leatherman. And one or two fixed. Edc. Others I’m carting around for whatever reason.
Thanks again, Neal

I know the feeling, having just recently crossed off a knife from a very old wish list.
