I dont think this is the big question. It depends a TON on the heat treatment. Aus 8 can be made to do almost as good with heat treatment.

My Emerson's use 154. Not sure about properties but I trust it with my life daily. That and the .40

I went with CPM-154. That little one you made for me has just about replaced all my smaller fixed blades, even the non-stainless ones.
