Poll: What folder would you bet your life on?

Perhaps we are looking at this from the wrong point of view?

There is a fairly large person coming to attack you. They want to hurt you. What folding knife would you want them most NOT TO HAVE?

"There seems to be an amazing connection between what people do... and what happens to them"

I carry my BM 710 Axis the most because it is light and thin (easy to carry) but a great design. The lock is perfection. The handle is not perfect, but it is good enough.

The Emerson Commander has a great handle, but that liner lock is iffy.

This makes for a toss up. A good handle is imperative in such a situation. But there is that big "what if the liner lock fails?".
I would bet high odds the liner lock would hold up 99.999% of the time, whereas the odds of my hand slipping are higher in such a situation, so I would go with the Commander of my two carry knives.

The ultimate? The Kasper Fighting Folder (great handle and guard!) with the Rolling Lock.
Are these being made yet? I ordered one a year ago, but have not heard back.

Realistically: a fully serrated sub 3" (legal) folder with a decent point/grip/lock that I wouldn't mind being tied up in an evidence bag. Delica/Standard/Pro-grip perhaps.

Possibly: M2 AFCK (plain) which I carry when I "have a legitimate reason".

Ideally: not a folder, but since I'm already playing- Sifu (that's my kung-fu master NOT the knife)

OK, the REKAT Sifu looks pretty handy too! OR (since were into the realm of what ifs)Benchmade/PCC Custom Balisong 5" Weehawk blade w/sharp false edge (or the recurved deep belly bowie). Disadvantaged in deployment time and grip. But big reach with the 6" handle, psycological impact (which is why they're banned here) and very strong. Also the handle flail option if you're caught short.

Much rather an ASP26 though...

I always carry an Emerson CQC7, so I guess thats the one for me .

I want an Emerson CQC6. If you have never seen one, you are missing out . Currently, Emerson is 3 years behind on the CQC6. I will own one some day, and we will never part.

Well, this seems hard to choose from. But here it goes for me.

1) Emerson Commander - It cuts deep, sharp & one nasty MF.

2) CS Vaqueros - This thing is mean and nasty, same as above.

3) And my 2 footer Philippine made balisong. Would this count?

Sal,
Interesting thought.
I think I would be most terrified by a Civilian coming at me with a BG behind it.

------------------
Why do they sterilize needles used for lethal injections?

Sal,
What's more important to me, rather than what they carry, is when I see them, and how far away they are? Next would be, how good are they with this weapon? If a BG comes at me with a Machete, and he doesn't know how to use it, then he's in trouble. If I don't see him coming, and he's good with a nail file, then I'm in trouble.

my choise goes for ..
1)military\starmate
2)emerson commander
3)ralph apogee
4)BM 710 axis lock
5)outdoor edge magna
scorpio.

A little perspective:
If somebody pulled out a cs vaquero or a spyderco civilian on me, my first thought would be: somebody's gonna get hurt. No matter how many guys are with me, I'd be outta' there.

You know, I never reply to these poll threads, but this one has gotten so long I had to take a peak, and after reading through 98 other responses, would feel unfulfilled if I didn't respond myself

Scary is good, strong and reliable is better, capable of massive stopping power from long distance is best. Luckily, the Vaquero Grande has all of those attributes rolled up into one. 6" heavily recurved blade with sharp point, strong lock. No contest, my #1 choice.

If I were to stick with 4" blades -- in other words, something I'm likely to actually have on me -- the choice is more difficult. Fact is, I'm perfectly comfortable with my endura. But my #1 choice would be my Benchmade 710 Axis, has a high-performance blade for both slashing and thrusting, good handle, and a lock I really really trust.

There, now I've responded to a "Poll" post. I hope someone out there is still reading this string
