Pond Scum goodness...

How different does plain ti hardware look from ss hardware?

Very little, the Ti seems a little more nicely finished (satin) in my opinion. You'd have to weigh both parts (e.g., standoff screws) to be certain which is which (I have done that). I was sold "Ti" standoffs once on one of the forums and lo and behold, they were definitely steel once I weighed them.

Yep, plain Ti hardware is kinda a part-swap one does for their preference and not for any other reason. Colored bits are obvious in many cases to be this / that material but trying to differentiate a Ti screw from the SS by sight alone gets tricky. Pivots are a bit easier to spot the slight difference in material appearance. What I find easiest to spot is when someone heat anodizes SS and tries to pass it off as bronze Ti...it happens.

My sterile 3.5 slicer made an appearance out in the sun today...:D :D

You guys have some great pictures with the scum! I finally got to see Jensen's set up in person! The hunt continues for me!

If you look hard enough, and for a long enough time, you will find one. It might take 6 years of daily effort, but you will find one. Good luck to everyone who is searching :)

Dang, it's a real shame that the pond scum is like my favorite scale next to the CF that I've seen so far. I guess I get to begin the hunt. Sigh.
