The same thing happened to my tan/tan meaner when I first put it in a Onscene sheath. A couple kydex marks appeared on the knife, I was a little bummed but took it upon myself to stretch it out a bit. Now its my favorite kydex sheath. I love hearing that click when I put the knife in. I did not send the Meaner in for a sheath fitting, he posted extras he was selling so I bought them.

And to be fair Ive had leather sheaths mark up brand new knives also.

One question has been left to consider.....How many for sale threads have included the statement, there is slight rubbing from the cardboard sheath it came with! If cardboard can mark, than so can plastic, or anything that contacts the blade. Just my .02 worth! I am truely happy that this situation will be resolved to the satisfaction of the buyer and no damage has been done, (IMHO) to the sheath maker!

Hey Guys..

Just so you know,, this problem is on it's way to being resolved. The knife will be refinished on my dime...

As long as Chuck is a happy camper,, I'm a happy camper

I'm not sure that I agree with this. Is it possible to edit the title of a thread?

Erik,

Whatever transpired in this fiasco I'd like to say you are a realy stand up guy for making things right. Regardless of who was at fault. On that note please check your PMs for another sheath request. :)

I have delt with Eric in the past and I found both he and his work to be of high quality. He charged me what I thought was a very fair price for a sheath for my dumpster mutt. Well over a month after getting the sheath I mentioned on a forum (maybe this one) that I wished I had ordered the sheath with a holder for my fire steel. He offered to make one for me no charge, because the steel I use is not a standard size I had to send it to him. I made four attempts to get a price from him for it but he wouldn't bite
I did send it to him with a few bucks to cover his costs, and I know he didn't make a cent for this extra work. When he did ship it back with the sheath he put in a note offering to attach it to the sheath for me if I couldn't do it.
As far as I am concerned if any of my knives need a sheath, Eric will be the one doing it

I dislike kydex(concealex) sheaths but I know who I'll go to if I need one. Meanwhile, Dwayne is my man.

Ditto on the great work by Eric, he did an awesome GW kydex up for me last year. After 27 plus years in front line customer service, I have a couple of observations.
Customers may not always be right, but they do need to be (and I'll use this word loosely since I can't think of a politically correct term) Humoured. And then educated. Each person has responsibilities in the "service" equation, as long as communications can remain positive and constructive, focus on the real issue, not the person, anything is possible. Hang in there fellas!

Tough thread.
All's well that ends well.
I don't need any sheaths Eric but if I did you would be my first choice.

Hey Guys...

Thanks All...

No matter who you supported

I appreciate all the replies...

Now that this is resolved, I have a new issue. All my Busses were pristine until I stuck them in wood, dirt and hit some rocks with them. I found no warning label or disclaimer printed on any trees I've struck or animals I've skinned, as to the scuffing and and edge wear on my blades.:grumpy:
I'm just the user, not a responsible party. Who do I hold accountable?
:D:D

Use 'em if ya gots 'em!

BTW, Beautiful work Eric!

This thing is settled folks.

You'all have a good one.

Good to here:thumbup:

I don't have kydex for a Busse...yet. Only leather.

I do have kydex from David Mozier(a few), Sean O'Hare and a few others. There sheaths are handle retention and have never left a scratch at all.
I have put them in and out alot and never a sheath mark.

I'm sure if the knives were coated they would show some marks. And maybe the S30V just doesn't show kydex wear like INFI does:confused:

I will add that I would not get kydex for a safe queen.

Glad all is worked out:thumbup:
