The second annual "Barlow Beer Can Challenge" was today and we couldn't have done it without somewhere to warm our hands. It was cold as hell, but with a little fire (courtesy of the King) it went ahead as scheduled.

Thanks King...

The game: Cans of root beer (no way in hell am I wasting real beer) set up at 50 yard intervals out to 400 yards. Pistols for the first two cans, rimfire rifles for the rest. Fewest shots to pop 'em wins. Didn't get any pics of the pistol part but here are a few of the rifle competition.

My home made shooting bench worked great.

The competition was fierce.

I didn't do a good job with the wind so me and my .17 got whupped by a .22 magnum this time, but it was close.

It's just a damn shame Moose doesn't have an accurate .22 or he could get in this sometime......:D

Looks like a blast tw. I like the shooting bench, btw. ;)

AWESOME!!!!!!!

Dude, sounds like a barrel of fun, with a big dipper full of cool.

Wish I could have made it.

Damn.

Looks like y'all know how to party rimfire style Tradewater!I got a feeling it won't be long before Moose has an interesting .22(props to Col.Whelan)

I heard he was throwing something together. Here's the one to beat. The guy missed one shot and it was dead center low.

You bastids have me thinking about doing a .22 build this summer.

nice.

my .22LR rifle/scope will throw down from 50 yds to 200 yds. i group easily at 1 inch at 100 yds.

i'm going to go all .22 WMR soon for a rifle (already have pistol(s).. because it's LOL more than other calibers, and considering .338 lapua is $6 *per shot*? god no...

and Trade, damn, that's a nice shootiering bench :)

First, I'd like to say that's an awesome bench. You did a great job on it. I need one. Second, it's refreshing to see some gun play around here. We all love competition.

Looks like a good time! I wanted to get a new rifle but my wife got an iPad instead:(

This comment right here...That's just..not right. This just is not right.I don't even think this should be allowed in the Becker forum. iPad > Rifle? No.

:D

the iPad 3 is coming out in about 2 weeks :) she could've waited, you coulda had a rifle (that won't expire), so, better take that iPad back now! :) mmm, rifle.

Very nice shooting bench!

Is that the Savage 93? I had my hands on one of those and was almost ready to pull out the cash to buy it. I walked away, hoping the guy would come down a little on his price, but it didn't work.

That's a great competition idea, btw, and I'm stealing it for this summer. I'm also stealing your shooting rest idea. :) Does that rear leg fold up or is it just bolted in solid?
